COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

LATIN HANDS C.I.C.

Company Number: 16388212 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 30 April 2026

Company activities and impact

Latin Hands C.I.C. was incorporated on 15th April 2025. This report covers its first financial period, from 15th April 2025 to 30th April 2026. The company exists to promote Latin American art and culture in London and to use cultural participation as a route to inclusion, wellbeing and connection for Latin American and migrant communities, artists and local residents. During the period the company managed to run a regular, low-cost community programmes in the SE1 area (Bermondsey and Shad Thames), including an art market at Fabal Beer Hall, painting classes at Chatica, textile workshops led by artist Mo el Kadey, and cacao and drawing workshops. Also, sent a weekly community newsletter keeping around 63 members informed about free and affordable cultural activities. Provided free guidance to individual migrants and families on their rights and on how to access local services. Gave Latin American and UK-based artists a platform to exhibit, teach and meet new audiences. In total, we can say a handsome number of people took part in different activities during the period. The community has benefited through access to affordable creative activities, a stronger sense of belonging for Latin American and migrant residents, new connections between neighbors of different backgrounds, and visibility and income opportunities for emerging artists.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s stakeholders are: participants in its workshops, classes and events; members of its community newsletter; migrants and families who receive guidance; the artists and facilitators who deliver activities; and partner venues and local businesses in SE1. Stakeholders were consulted informally through conversations and feedback at the end of workshops and events, replies to the weekly newsletter, and regular discussions with artists and venue partners about programming. In response to this feedback, the company e.g. increased the number of hands-on workshops, scheduled more activities in the evenings and at weekends, and kept prices low or free to remove cost barriers.
