During the financial year, Climate Hebrides continued to support and empower communities across the Outer Hebrides to respond to climate change through education, engagement, partnership working, and practical action. The Hub significantly increased its reach and impact, delivering 11 formal training and learning events attended by over 240 participants, while engaging several hundred additional residents through community outreach activities, summer shows, public events, and local festivals. A key focus of the year was improving public understanding of climate change and supporting people to take meaningful action. Evaluation data showed that 90% of participants increased their climate knowledge and confidence to respond to climate-related challenges. The organisation maintained a strong commitment to accessibility, with almost all event participants reporting that activities were inclusive and accessible. We expanded our communications and educational resources, producing video case studies, educational publications, recorded event content, and developed a new online learning programme focussed on local climate impacts. Regular newsletters and social media activity helped reach a wider audience and provided reliable information to counter climate misinformation, supporting informed decision-making within local communities. Community engagement remained central to Climate Hebrides' work. Activities included electric vehicle roadshows, nature-based wellbeing workshops, climate events for adults with additional learning needs, and participation in public events across the islands. These initiatives increased awareness of climate issues, supported wellbeing, encouraged sustainable travel, and promoted practical actions to reduce environmental impact. Climate Hebrides also enabled community-led climate action through its Ideas into Action Fund, distributing £10,000 to support 11 local projects and helping community groups secure additional external funding. Supported initiatives included biodiversity projects, community growing and composting schemes, reusable festival infrastructure, renewable energy solutions, waste reduction projects, adaptation measures, and wellbeing activities for vulnerable groups. The company's key stakeholders include members of the Outer Hebrides Climate Hub, local residents, community groups, businesses, partner organisations, public sector bodies, and policymakers involved in climate action and community development across the Outer Hebrides. Throughout the year, Climate Hebrides CIC actively consulted with stakeholders through a range of engagement and participation activities. Climate Hebrides facilitates the Outer Hebrides Climate Hub, a network of more than 350 individuals, organisations, and community groups. Monthly online and in-person Hub meetings provided regular opportunities for members to contribute directly to the Hub's priorities, activities, and annual business planning. One of these meetings included an in-person gathering attended by the First Minister, John Swinney, where Climate Hub members were able to speak to Mr Swinney directly about their concerns and work regarding climate action. Stakeholders were also consulted through evaluation and feedback processes at community events, training sessions, workshops, and outreach activities, ensuring that programmes and services remained responsive to local needs. The company hosted its annual Climate Conference, OH COP, attended by over 150 participants both in person and online. This event provided a platform for stakeholders to learn about local climate action, discuss priorities, ask questions, and provide feedback on the Hub's work and future direction. In addition, ongoing engagement took place through regular meetings with the Community Planning Partnership Climate Change Working Group and through participation in local and national consultations on climate related policies and strategies. Feedback gathered through these consultations informed the development of our annual work programme, communications strategy, training activities, and community engagement initiatives. Stakeholder input highlighted the need for greater support for climate adaptation, community resilience, accessible learning opportunities, and practical local solutions to climate challenges. In response, the company expanded its educational resources, increased community outreach activities, developed new online learning materials, strengthened partnership working, and played a leading role in the development of the Climate Ready Outer Hebrides initiative, the regional partnership responsible for adaptation planning. The company also used stakeholder feedback to represent community views in local and national policy discussions, ensuring that lived experience and local priorities were voiced. Through these consultation activities, Climate Hebrides CIC has continued to strengthen community participation and ensure that its work delivers meaningful benefits to the people and communities it serves
