FIERCE MOMS CONEXUS CIC will deliver a range of activities designed to empower Black African mums, including those with “no recourse to public funds”, to overcome systemic challenges and achieve personal and professional success. The organisation will provide workshops and seminars covering topics such as financial literacy, navigating UK immigration systems, mental health awareness, entrepreneurship, parenting strategies, adapting to life in the UK, and cultural integration. These sessions will provide practical knowledge and encourage community-building among participants. The organisation will also offer skill acquisition programmes, providing vocational training and hands-on workshops to equip mums with marketable skills such as digital skills, crafting, tailoring, hairstyling, and other creative or technical proficiencies that can support employment and entrepreneurial opportunities. Parenting support will be provided through specialised programmes and resources to help Black African mums build confidence in their parenting skills, including parenting workshops, support groups, educational resources focused on raising children in the UK while preserving cultural values. Mentorship programmes will connect Black African mums, including those with “no recourse to public funds”, with experienced mentors who can provide guidance on employment opportunities, business creation, parenting, and personal growth. These activities will benefit the community by equipping mums with employable skills and entrepreneurial tools through targeted skill acquisition programmes, promoting health and wellbeing through accessible and culturally sensitive programmes addressing mental and physical health, and supporting economic independence through job readiness, entrepreneurship training, and financial literacy programmes. The organisation will also provide resources for mums with “no recourse to public funds” so they can access essential support systems and thrive in the UK. By fostering a supportive network of mums who share similar experiences, the initiatives will help reduce social isolation and contribute to empowered mums, stronger families, enriched communities, and greater societal equity.
