During the financial year, Community Drive CIC continued to establish itself as a community-focused organisation supporting children, young people and families, particularly those experiencing disadvantage and those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The company focused on developing its community provision, building relationships with local families and identifying areas of unmet need within Lozells, Handsworth and surrounding areas of Birmingham. This included engaging with parents, children and young people to better understand the barriers they experience in relation to education, SEND support, wellbeing, social inclusion and access to positive activities. The company worked towards creating accessible and inclusive opportunities for children and families, with a particular emphasis on supporting those who may face financial, educational or social barriers. The directors used their professional experience in education, SEND, safeguarding and supporting young people with additional needs to help shape the company's developing services. During this initial period, work also included developing relationships with community organisations and local stakeholders, planning future educational and youth provision, identifying suitable resources and facilities, and preparing the organisation to deliver a wider programme of community activities. The company's activities benefited the community by helping to identify local needs, improving links between families and community support, and laying the foundations for accessible educational, SEND and youth provision within an area of significant need.
The company's stakeholders include local children and young people, parents and carers, families of children with SEND, local residents, schools, community organisations and other professionals working with children and families. Community Drive CIC has consulted stakeholders primarily through direct conversations with parents, carers, children and young people, as well as through engagement with local community members and professionals. The directors have also drawn upon their professional work within local schools and SEND services to understand the needs and challenges experienced by families in the area. Feedback highlighted a need for affordable and accessible educational support, inclusive activities for children with SEND, opportunities for children and young people to socialise safely, and greater support for parents in understanding and navigating SEND and education services. This feedback has helped shape the company's plans and priorities, including the development of SEND-inclusive activities, educational support, youth provision, parent support and opportunities designed to be accessible to families experiencing financial or other disadvantages. Stakeholder consultation will continue to inform the development and delivery of the company's services.
No remuneration was received by the directors during the financial year.
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
