Objectives and Activities
Aims and Objectives
A) To advance the Christian faith in accordance with the statement of beliefs appearing in the memorandum in Lindow Cheshire and in such other parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the directors (called Trustees) may from time to time see fit and to fulfil such other purposes which are exclusively charitable according to the law of England and Wales and are connected with the charitable work of the charity; and
B) To advance education in accordance with Christian principles in the said locality and elsewhere as the Trustees may from time to time think fit.
Public Benefit

The trustees confirm that they have complied with the requirements of Section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit.
Structure, Governance and Management
Governing Document
The charity is constituted as a company limited by guarantee and is therefore governed by a memorandum and articles of association. The directors of the company are also trustees of the charity.
Trustee Selection Methods
New Trustees are selected and appointed by the existing trustees based on a candidate's Christian belief and experience; sympathy for the objects of the charity; and his or her proficience in assisting the charity in its prosecution of its objectives.

2.3. Incoming Resources
Incoming resources are accouunted for on a receivable basis.
2.4. Resources Expended
All expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all costs related to each category of expenditure shown in the Statement of Financial Activities.
Expenditure is recognised when the following criteria are met:
  • there is a present legal or constructive obligation resulting from a past event;
  • it is more likely than not that a transfer of benefits (usually as cash payment) will be required in settlement; and
  • The amount of the obligation can be measured or estimated reliably.
Recognition of expenditure and associated liabilities as a result of a grant.
Grant awards are recognised as expenditure when the conditions for their payment have been met or where there is a constructive obligation to make a payment.
A constructive obligation arises when:
The the charity has communicated its intention to award a grant to a recipient who then has a reasonable expectation that they will receive a grant or there is an established pattern of practice which indicates to the recipient that the charity will honour its committment.
The Trustees have control over the amount and timing of grant payments and consequently where approval has been given by the board of Trustees and any of the above criteria have been met then a liability is recognised.
2.5. Investments
The policy for including investments in the accounts is as follows :-

2.7. Recognition of liabilities
Liabilities are recognised on the accruals basis in accordance with normal accounting principles, modified where necessary in accordance with the guidance given in the Charities SORP (FRS102)  (revised 2024)  issued by the Charity Commissioners for England & Wales
2.8. Unrealised and realised gains
Realised gains and losses are included in the accounts on the date at which a contractual obligation is entered into.
Unrealised gains and losses are computed by reference to the market value of the investments at the balance sheet date, compared to the brought forward cost or valuation, and gains and losses arising on similar categories of investments are netted off.
