Notes to the Financial Statements
1. General Information
Purity Financial Services Limited is a private company, limited by shares, incorporated in England & Wales, registered number 11473462 . The registered office is Suite A Rowan House Holyhead Road, Albrighton, Wolverhampton, WV7 3AU.
2. Accounting Policies
2.1. Basis of Preparation of Financial Statements
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention, modified to include listed investments at fair value, and in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102 Section 1A Small Entities "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" and the Companies Act 2006.
The financial statements are presented in sterling, which is the company's functional currency, and are rounded to the nearest pound.
2.2. Going Concern Disclosure
The directors have assessed the company's ability to continue as a going concern. Although the company has net current liabilities at the reporting date, it is profitable and cash generative, and its loans are being repaid in accordance with the lenders' repayment schedules. The directors are satisfied that the company has adequate resources to continue in operation for at least twelve months from the date of approval of these financial statements. The financial statements have therefore been prepared on a going concern basis.
2.3. Turnover
Turnover represents commission and fees receivable for the provision of financial advice services, excluding value added tax. Turnover is recognised when the company becomes entitled to the income, net of any amounts expected to be clawed back by product providers.
2.4. Intangible Fixed Assets and Amortisation - Other Intangible
Other intangible assets comprise client relationships acquired. They are measured at cost, including directly attributable costs of acquisition, less accumulated amortisation and any impairment losses. They are amortised to the profit and loss account on a straight-line basis over their estimated useful economic life of 4 years.
2.5. Tangible Fixed Assets and Depreciation
Tangible fixed assets are measured at cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses. Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost of the fixed assets, less their estimated residual value, over their expected useful lives on the following bases:
Fixtures & Fittings 25% Straight Line
Computer Equipment 25% Straight Line
2.6. Financial Instruments
The company has only basic financial instruments. These are initially recognised at transaction price and subsequently measured at amortised cost. Loans are stated after deducting repayments, and interest is charged to profit or loss as it accrues.
2.7. Taxation
Income tax expense represents the sum of the tax currently payable and deferred tax.
The tax currently payable is based on taxable profit for the year. Taxable profit differs from profit as reported in the statement of comprehensive income because of items of income or expense that are taxable or deductible in other years and items that are never taxable or deductible. The company's liability for current tax is calculated using tax rates that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the end of the reporting period.
Deferred tax is recognised on timing differences between the carrying amounts of assets and liabilities in the financial statements and the corresponding tax bases used in the computation of taxable profit. Deferred tax liabilities are generally recognised for all taxable timing differences. Deferred tax assets are generally recognised for all deductible temporary differences to the extent that it is probable that taxable profits will be available against which those deductible timing differences can be utilised. The carrying amount of deferred tax assets is reviewed at the end of each reporting period and reduced to the extent that it is no longer probable that sufficient taxable profits will be available to allow all or part of the asset to be recovered.

2.7. Taxation - continued
Deferred tax assets and liabilities are measured at the tax rates that are expected to apply in the period in which the liability is settled or the asset realised, based on tax rates (and tax laws) that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the end of the reporting period. Deferred tax liabilities are presented within provisions for liabilities and deferred tax assets within debtors. The measurement of deferred tax liabilities and assets reflect the tax consequences that would follow from the manner in which the Company expects, at the end of the reporting period, to recover or settle the carrying amount of its assets and liabilities.
Current and deferred tax are recognised in profit or loss for the year, except when they relate to items that are recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity, in which case current and deferred tax are recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity respectively.
2.8. Pensions
The company operates defined contribution pension schemes. Contributions are charged to profit or loss in the period to which they relate. Contributions payable but unpaid at the reporting date are included in creditors.
2.9. Investments
Listed investments are measured at fair value at each reporting date. Changes in fair value are recognised in profit or loss.
2.10. Leases
Rentals payable under operating leases are charged to profit or loss on a straight-line basis over the lease term.
