Transaction Categorisation Tide automatically categorises incoming and outgoing transactions into predefined bookkeeping categories to help customers track income and expenses accurately. Customers can also create custom categorisation rules for recurring transactions. 2. Receipt Capture and Record Keeping Customers can upload receipts through the Tide app. Receipts are stored digitally and linked to transactions, creating an audit trail and supporting accurate bookkeeping records. 3. Income and Expense Recognition Tide's accounting tools are designed to match payments received with invoices issued and to classify expenditure appropriately, helping customers identify business income and expenses consistently. 4. VAT Accounting For VAT-registered businesses, Tide allows customers to assign VAT treatments to transactions and prepare and submit VAT returns directly to HMRC through its Making Tax Digital (MTD) compliant system. 5. Tax Estimation and Provisioning Tide provides estimated liabilities for Self Assessment, Corporation Tax, and other tax obligations. It also offers linked tax-saving accounts to help customers set aside funds for future tax payments. 6. Financial Reporting Customers can generate reports covering cash flow, profit, expenses, revenue, and tax estimates. These reports support financial decision-making and compliance requirements. 7. Making Tax Digital Compliance Tide's accounting tools are recognised by HMRC and are designed to comply with the UK government's Making Tax Digital requirements for eligible businesses. 8. Data Synchronisation and Bookkeeping Controls Transactions from the Tide business account flow automatically into Tide Accounting, reducing manual data entry.
