During the period from 23 January 2025 to 31 January 2026, Buy Back Bushfield CIC worked towards bringing Bushfield Camp into community ownership and protecting it as a nature reserve for public benefit. The company held community engagement events, conducted online surveys, delivered information leaflets and established a Facebook group. These activities helped residents learn about the proposals for the site, express their views and participate in discussions about its future. The company also submitted an application to list Bushfield Camp as an Asset of Community Value, seeking recognition of its importance to the local community. This work supported community participation and raised awareness of the site’s value for nature, recreation and wellbeing. Both directors worked without remuneration, and donations funded leaflets and advertising to support community engagement.
The company’s stakeholders include local residents, supporters and people who use or value Bushfield Camp for recreation, access to nature and wellbeing. Stakeholders were consulted through community engagement events and online surveys, supported by information leaflets and a Facebook group. Feedback informed the development of ideas for the site’s future use if community acquisition were successful. It also informed consideration of whether the company should fundraise for legal representation in relation to the development proposals.
No remuneration was received
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
