Well Run Brum is a community movement which brings men together to get their mental wellness on track through social running in Birmingham. These free-to-access fortnightly 5KM runs provide social support for men at a conversational pace, led by an England Athletics qualified Run Leader. Each run begins with a guest speaker - a pace maker for the conversation - providing inspiration to explore healthier ways to cope, express and connect before setting off on a 5KM run. Well Run Brum provides a safe, judgement-free space for men to build resilience, strengthen social connections and become more physically active through regular, supported running. This entirely voluntary run programme has benefited more than 100 men in Birmingham and developed an online audience of more than 100,000 views in the last 90 days.
The feedback from men who have already attended our free-to-access fortnightly 5K runs demonstrates the positive difference the movement is making: “It’s such a different way of socialising and exercising.” “Such an uplifting experience” “It was great hearing from the guest speaker, listening to his story and having a conversation with him whilst running! Inspirational!” “Such an incredible movement for men’s mental wellness”
