Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 31 January 2026 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.

These accounts have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

Company activities and impact

WANDA Belfast CIC was set up in 2017 as a small film and moving image festival promoting the works by women and people from underrepresented communities. As part of our festivals and year-round activities we hold screenings, talks, panel discussions and film events. Due to a number of reasons the company was dormant from 2023 up until November 2025. In November 2025 WANDA worked with the Belfast Film Festival to host a film screening and public discussion. The screening event was of a rarely seen film from the archives of Barbara Lodencalled 'Fade In' and was accompanied by a talk with Dr Elena Gorfinkel. The event was well attended and is the first event to relaunch our future programming endevours.

Consultation with stakeholders

WANDA directors are in continuous conversation with stakeholders due to the nature of their day jobs as artists, film programmers and academics. We have worked with the Belfast Film Festival this year to host an archival film. This was in consultation with Dr Elena Gorfinkel of Kings College London and BFI. Other stakeholders include Ulster University, Array Collective,Film Hub NI and QFT.
