During the reporting year, the company developed a platform designed to bring schools and employers together and support greater engagement between young people, education and the world of work. Alongside the development of the platform, we worked with the Enterprise Oxfordshire Careers Hub and Buckinghamshire Careers Hub to support local schools and employers and contributed to a specific project delivered in partnership with the Enterprise Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Careers Hubs. As part of this work, we visited a range of employers and worked directly with young people participating in careers-related activities and employer engagement days. We recorded their experiences, conducted interviews with young people and employers, and captured feedback on the value and impact of these activities. We then brought this material together to produce an impact video, which was shared with the Careers & Enterprise Company through the Careers Hubs. The purpose of the video was to demonstrate the experiences of young people and employers and to provide evidence of the impact that meaningful employer engagement and careers activities can have. These activities benefited the community by helping to strengthen links between schools, young people and local employers. They gave young people greater exposure to workplaces, employers and career pathways, while also helping employers engage directly with the future workforce. Our work also helped the Careers Hubs communicate the impact of their programmes and supported the wider aim of improving careers education, employer engagement and opportunities for young people.
