During the financial year, The Uplift Initiative CIC delivered community activities across North Solihull and surrounding areas to reduce clothing poverty, financial hardship and social isolation. Our Community Wardrobe pop-ups provided free good-quality pre-loved clothing, footwear and essential items to individuals and families, including people referred to us experiencing hardship. We also delivered women’s wellbeing activities including weekly walks, free fitness sessions and monthly hikes, creating opportunities for women to become active, build friendships and reduce isolation. During the year, we received approximately 5.3 tonnes of donated items, supported more than 2,200 people and benefited from approximately 2,300 volunteer hours. These activities have helped reduce financial pressures on local households, improve access to essential clothing, support wellbeing and social connection, create volunteering opportunities and prevent usable clothing from going to waste.
