During its first accounting period, the company provided consultancy and project support to organisations working for community benefit. Its work focused on preserving the value of existing community services, enabling residents to influence local facilities and sharing learning with other organisations. People Know How legacy project The company delivered a legacy project for People Know How, supporting the transition of its work and resources to organisations able to carry that work forward. This included work associated with the Passing the Baton event on 16 June 2025 and the continuity of school transitions work with Children First, the All Aboard canal boat project with Polwarth Parish Church, and digital inclusion work with EVOC. The community benefit was support for continuity of services, relationships and opportunities developed through People Know How. The assets involved belonged to People Know How; they were not assets transferred by this CIC. Craigentinny Castle community consultation The company led community consultation with The Ripple Project and the Craigentinny Community Centre Management Committee on the future of Craigentinny Castle and its surrounding grounds. Work during the period supported residents and local organisations to explore possible uses and contribute to a shared vision for the site. Visits with Craigentinny residents to another city, completed before 31 January 2026, enabled participants to see buildings that had been taken into community ownership and renovated. The work helped residents consider practical possibilities for a community asset. Sharing learning The company contributed to the Decelerator’s Empowering Endings event on 10 June 2025, sharing learning from the People Know How closure and legacy work. This supported consideration of how organisational endings can be managed while preserving community benefit.
Stakeholders included client organisations, project partners, community participants and Craigentinny residents. Views were gathered through regular project meetings and informal discussions and used to adapt the approach to delivery. Within the Ripple consultation, visits with residents to community-owned and renovated buildings in another city provided practical examples to inform discussion about the future of Craigentinny Castle. These visits took place during the reporting period.
Employer pension contributions totalling £16,500.00 were paid to an Interactive Investor SIPP for the sole director, Glenn Liddall. He approved these contributions as sole director as remuneration for his work for the CIC. No salary or wages were paid. Business travel and mileage expenses of £473.42 were reimbursed separately. Further details are provided in notes 2 and 6 to the accounts.
The company purchased flowers costing £50.00 as a thank-you gift to an external contact for support of the CIC’s work. This gift is disclosed here for transparency. There were no other gifts of money or assets or transfers for less than full consideration during the reporting period. The People Know How transfers described in Part 1 were transfers by that organisation, not by this CIC.
