During the financial year, the Company continued to provide person-centred care and support to adults aged 18–65 with mental health needs and learning disabilities. We are a CQC-regulated care provider and are committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support that enables the people we support to live as ordinary, independent and fulfilling lives as possible. We currently support six service users and provide support across all areas of their lives, including day-to-day living, mental health and emotional wellbeing, financial management, maintaining their homes, accessing their communities and developing greater independence. Our approach is centred around the individual, with support tailored to their needs, abilities, wishes and personal goals. As part of our support, we provide practical assistance with financial and household matters where required. This can include helping service users to establish direct debits and manage essential payments where they experience difficulties accessing or managing their banking arrangements. We also use Company funds to help meet necessary daily living costs and to ensure that individuals have suitable, safe and comfortable homes. This can include purchasing items and equipment needed to properly furnish and equip their homes. We also reinvest our resources directly into the people we support by funding activities, experiences, holidays and other opportunities that promote independence, social inclusion and wellbeing. As a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, our aim is to ensure that any surplus generated is used to further our social purpose and improve outcomes for the people we support. During the year, we achieved significant positive outcomes. Three of the people we support progressed to the point where they no longer required an active social worker and moved to a passive level of social work involvement. This represents a significant improvement in their independence and stability and demonstrates the positive impact of consistent, individualised and intervention-led support. We also place significant importance on intervention-led practice and invest in the training and development of our staff. By providing our staff with appropriate training and developing their skills, we aim to ensure that they are equipped to respond effectively to the complex and changing needs of the people we support. The wider community has also benefited from the stability and preventative nature of the support we provide. By intervening early, supporting individuals to manage their needs and helping them to maintain stable lives in the community, our service aims to reduce the likelihood of crises requiring emergency intervention and intensive statutory services. Based on an estimate made between our organisation and another similar provider, the combined approach is estimated to have contributed to approximately £200,000 in savings to emergency services. Overall, the Company has continued to use its resources and expertise to improve the lives of the people it supports, promote independence, reduce social isolation, support mental health and wellbeing, and enable individuals to remain safely and successfully within their communities. Our focus remains on achieving meaningful outcomes for each individual while reinvesting in our staff, services and the people we support.
Leeds City Council Commission us, we are in regular meetings with our contract managers to ensure our service is providing quality care.
