The financial statements have been prepared on the going concern basis, which the directors consider appropriate for the reasons set out below.
The company is the holding company of the Street Food group, whose trading subsidiaries are Edinburgh Street Food Limited and Manchester Street Food Limited. The company does not trade in its own right. Its costs are mainly central group costs, including directors' remuneration and professional fees. It is funded mainly by repayments of amounts owed to it by its subsidiaries and by equity raised from shareholders.
For the year ended 31 August 2026 the company made a loss of £515,374. At the balance sheet date it held cash of £3,415, against creditors falling due within one year of £100,992. The company therefore depends on cash generated within the group to meet its liabilities as they fall due.
At 31 August 2026 it had net assets of £1,101,906. The directors have assessed the recoverability of the £695,003 owed by MSF against MSF's trading forecasts and available facilities. The company does not require repayment of this balance within the next twelve months to meet its own obligations. The directors consider the balance to be recoverable over the longer term and no impairment has been recognised.
The directors have prepared cash flow forecasts for the company and the group covering the period to August 2027.
On this basis, the directors have a reasonable expectation that the company has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for at least twelve months from the date of approval of these financial statements, and they continue to adopt the going concern basis in preparing the financial statements.
