COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

THROUGH THE LAB CIC

Company Number: 15616759 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 30 April 2026

Company activities and impact

Throughout the financial year, Through The Lab CIC continued to support young people and underrepresented communities through creative education, music and media production, mentoring and professional development opportunities. Our activities focused on providing accessible and affordable opportunities for individuals to develop creative, technical and transferable skills across music production, recording, filmmaking, photography and digital content creation. Through practical in-person workshops, we aimed to remove financial and social barriers that often prevent individuals from accessing professional equipment, industry knowledge and creative experiences. Our work also focused on creating welcoming and supportive environments where participants could express themselves, collaborate, improve their wellbeing, develop relationships and explore their creative identities. We continued to build partnerships with community organisations and creative industry professionals to develop pathways into further education, employment, volunteering and paid creative opportunities.

Consultation with stakeholders

Through The Lab CIC's key stakeholders include young people and programme participants, freelance facilitators and community partner organisations. Our approach to consultation is centred on maintaining open communication with those involved in our activities, encouraging feedback and creating opportunities for participants and delivery partners to contribute to the development of our programmes. We engaged with young people through face-to-face conversations during and after workshops, encouraging them to share their experiences, interests, challenges and suggestions. We also received feedback from partner organisations and facilitators through ongoing discussions and reflections on project delivery, participant engagement and areas for improvement. This feedback helped shape our approach to programme planning and delivery, allowing us to adapt activities to individual needs and interests, improve accessibility and inclusivity, and ensure our programmes continued to respond to the needs of the communities we support.

Directors' remuneration

No remuneration was paid specifically for undertaking statutory director responsibilities. However, payments were made to directors for separately delivered freelance creative and professional services, including project delivery and related creative work. These payments were for services provided to the CIC rather than remuneration for performing director duties.

Transfer of assets

No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
