Compliance with accounting standards
The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of FRS 102 Section 1A Small Entities. There were no material departures from that standard.
Year-end 2022 and 2023 statutory accounts contained estimates, for which the 31 January 2022 reported closing reserves were £19,089 and later amended in the 31 January 2023 accounts (comparator period) to £15,658. The reported closing reserves at 31 January 2023 were £20,300.
Share capital was de minimis and no dividends were paid or payable in these periods, thus, the director discloses that company net profit/(loss) was the only contributor to the reserves.
Taking information reported to HMRC on the CT600 returns, the profit/(loss) before tax was £3,856 and £(5,564) for the years ended 2022 and 2023 respectively. The total of £(1,708) net loss to 31 January 2023 is the expected closing retained earnings figure at 31 January 2023.
The director confirms that the amounts reported to HMRC in the CT600 returns were accurate representations of business profit, and that no adjustments were made in converting statutory profit to taxable profit, these are at parity.
All else equal, the £20,300 closing reserve balance at 31 January 2023 was overstated by £22,008 and is now adjusted. This adjustment has been made in the current year (year-ended 31 January 2026), separately itemised as a “Loss from changes in provisions” for presentation purposes only, noting software limitations on disclosure headings. It is reported within the Income Statement and further disclosed here in the interest of accounting transparency, the alternative (and allowable under FRS 102) being a retained earnings non-disclosed adjustment.
The principal accounting policies adopted in the preparation of the financial statements are set out below and have remained unchanged from the previous year, and also have been consistently applied within the same accounts.
The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention as modified by the revaluation of certain fixed assets.
The accounts are presented in £ sterling.
Tangible fixed assets and depreciation
Tangible assets are included at cost less depreciation and impairment. Depreciation has been provided at the following reducing balance annual rates in order to write off the assets over their estimated useful lives, with no terminal write-down date:
