During the financial year 1st February 2025 to 31st January 2026, Owen’s World Foundation continued its work to reduce knife crime, raise awareness of its consequences and improve community safety across Swindon and Wiltshire. The company’s educational talks and workshops reached approximately 3,000 young people from schools, youth groups and Scout groups, helping them understand the dangers and consequences of knife crime and the importance of making safer choices. Educational support continued at a secondary school in Swindon for the third consecutive year, alongside knife crime awareness talks delivered to students at two colleges for the third consecutive year. To support safer communities, two knife amnesty bins were installed at college sites, providing facilities for the safe surrender of unwanted knives. A further ten major bleed control kits were installed across Swindon and Wiltshire, increasing the availability of potentially life-saving equipment. Members of Morden Club also received bleed control training following fundraising by the club and its members to provide a bleed control kit, helping them develop the skills and confidence to respond to life-threatening bleeding emergencies. The company held its first Anti-Knife Crime Summit, bringing together guest speakers from across the country to share knowledge, experiences and approaches to knife crime prevention. The event encouraged collaboration between organisations and individuals working to improve community safety. In addition, the company delivered its first online workshop for parents, providing information and guidance to help them better understand knife crime and support young people in making safer choices. The company also held its second anniversary party, bringing together supporters and members of the community to celebrate its work and encourage continued involvement in knife crime prevention. Throughout the year, Owen Dunn’s story remained central to the company’s educational and awareness work. By sharing the real-life consequences of knife crime, the company helps young people understand the impact of their choices and aims to prevent other families from experiencing similar loss. Through its education, community engagement, installation of life-saving equipment and training initiatives, Owen’s World Foundation continued to make a positive contribution to knife crime prevention and community safety during the financial year.
