3 Accounting Policies (continued)
Property, plant and equipment
Tangible fixed assets are stated at historical cost less accumulated depreciation and any impairment losses. Depreciation is calculated on a straight-line basis over the estimated useful lives of the assets, commencing when the assets are available for use, as follows: Cameras, lighting equipment, electronic production equipment and power equipment: 3 years (33.33% per annum). Lenses, filters, tripods, grip equipment and other durable production accessories: 5 years (20% per annum). The estimated useful lives and residual values of assets are reviewed periodically.
Government grants
Government grants are accounted for under the performance model. A grant that does not impose specified future performance conditions is recognised in income when the grant proceeds are received or receivable. A grant that imposes specified future performance conditions is recognised in income only when those conditions are met. Grants received before the recognition criteria are satisfied are recognised as a liability.
Going concern
The financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis. The directors acknowledge uncertainty regarding the company's future trading prospects, as revenue has been insufficient to sustain the level of business activity originally anticipated. The directors are currently considering the company's future, including the possibility of ceasing trading, although no formal decision has been made. The company's ability to continue operating will depend on securing sufficient future work and maintaining adequate resources to meet its financial obligations.
