COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

LEEDS DOCK RUNNING CIC

Company Number: 16190680 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 January 2026

Company activities and impact

During the financial year ending 31 January 2026, Leeds Dock Running CIC provided accessible, inclusive and community-focused running and outdoor activities for people of different ages, backgrounds and running abilities across Leeds. The club delivered regular free, volunteer-led group running sessions, including 2 C25km programmes helping remove financial barriers to participation in physical activity. Sessions welcomed beginners and experienced runners, providing opportunities to improve fitness, build confidence, develop friendships and support mental wellbeing. The CIC also organised community running events, social activities and outdoor challenges, including the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge and community relay activities. These encouraged teamwork, participation, personal achievement and stronger connections between members of the local community. The club invested in training and developing volunteer run leaders to improve the quality, inclusivity and safety of its activities. Volunteers supported session planning, route management, event organisation and the delivery of activities, allowing the CIC to provide opportunities that would otherwise be more expensive or less accessible. The company's activities promoted physical wellbeing, social inclusion and community engagement. Any funds generated were used to support the club's activities, equipment, training and community events rather than being distributed as profits to directors or members.

Consultation with stakeholders

Leeds Dock Running CIC engaged with its stakeholders, including runners, volunteer run leaders, directors and members of the local community. Consultation took place through the club's WhatsApp community group, polls, social media, informal discussions during running sessions and feedback from volunteers and participants. Feedback was used to understand participants' needs, preferences and experiences, including running abilities, session accessibility, routes, activities and community events. The club responded by developing inclusive running opportunities for different abilities, supporting beginners, reviewing running routes and session arrangements, and involving volunteers in planning and delivering club activities. This ongoing engagement helped ensure that the CIC's activities remained responsive to the needs of the community it serves.

Directors' remuneration

During the financial year ended 31 January 2026, the directors of Leeds Dock Running CIC received no salaries, wages, directors' fees or regular remuneration. The CIC incurred £107 in expenditure on one-off appreciation gifts for directors and key volunteers in recognition of their unpaid contribution to organising and delivering community running activities and events. These gifts were provided as a gesture of appreciation for voluntary service and were not part of any salary or contractual remuneration arrangement. The £107 represents the total expenditure on appreciation gifts for directors and volunteers combined, rather than remuneration paid exclusively to directors.
