During the reporting period 2025-2026, Hayat Initiative CIC has delivered free, community based workshops in Leicester, primarily supporting women and girls aged 16 and over, particularly those from ethnic minority backgrounds who face cultural, social and financial barriers to accessing mental health and emotional well-being support. Our workshops have provided a much-needed safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment where women and girls have felt able to openly discuss personal struggles, share experiences and address sensitive issues that are often surrounded by stigma, shame or cultural expectations. Through these initiatives, participants have benefited from increased self-esteem, self confidence, motional awareness and mental resilience. The workshops have provided opportunities to explore and better understand challenges relating to trauma, addiction, anxiety, low self-worth, relationships and emotional distress, while developing practical coping strategies, healthier boundaries and greater emotional regulation. Our activities have also helped reduce feelings of isolation, encouraged meaningful connections and fostered a sense of belonging, empowerment and hope. By providing a supportive avenue for personal reflection, education and growth, we have enabled women and girls to feel heard, valued and better equipped to navigate life's challenges. All activities have been delivered voluntarily and free of charge, removing financial barriers and making emotional well-being support more accessible to underserved communities. The wider community benefit lies in empowering women and girls to strengthen their emotional well-being, make positive life choices and develop healthier relationships, creating a lasting positive impact on themselves, their families and the wider community. Although our initial activities have focused on workshops rather than individual counselling sessions, we remain committed to our wider objectives of improving mental health awareness, reducing stigma, promoting emotional well-being and empowering individuals within underserved communities. As a developing Community Interest Company, Hayat Initiative CIC aims to continue building upon these foundations, expanding its community engagement and developing accessible support initiatives that positively contribute to the well-being of individuals, families and the wider community.
