Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, net of discounts and value added taxes. Turnover includes revenue earned from the sale of antiques goods and from commission earned when acting as agent.
Sale of goods
Turnover from the sale of antiques is recognised when the significant risks and rewards of ownership of the goods have transferred to the customer. This is usually at the point that the customer has taken delivery of the goods as all significant risks, such as loss or damage, pass to the customer at that point.
Commission Income
Where the company acts as an agent in the sale of antique items, only the commission earned is recognised as revenue, rather than the gross sales value.
