COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

BLACK WOMAN KINDNESS CIC

Company Number: 13841385 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 January 2026

Company activities and impact

Black Woman Kindness Initiative (BWKI) delivered creative health, wellbeing, enterprise and storytelling activities for Black women and women from global majority communities in Redbridge and neighbouring London boroughs. Activities included wellbeing sessions, creative workshops, business mentoring, networking and community storytelling, providing welcoming spaces for women to connect, express themselves and develop their skills. Our activities supported women to build confidence, strengthen social connections and improve their emotional wellbeing. Participants had opportunities to explore business ideas, share their experiences and develop their voice. The main beneficiaries were Black and global majority women, including women experiencing isolation, limited access to culturally responsive support or barriers to personal and professional development. Wider community audiences benefited from events that encouraged understanding and celebrated women’s experiences.

Consultation with stakeholders

We involved participants through group discussions, informal conversations, WhatsApp groups and feedback forms. Women helped shape session topics, activities and how programmes were delivered. We also offered opportunities to share feedback verbally or through audio recordings. Discussions with facilitators, volunteers, community organisations and local partners helped us identify needs, review our work and plan future activities.

Directors' remuneration

Directors’ remuneration and professional fees for service delivery during the period totaled £8,470.00 (Karen Greenidge-Hutchinson: £6,760.00; Kaiya Rose Greenidge-Hall: £1,710.00; Sophie White: £Nil), plus £1,623.00 in reimbursed expenses.
