Burslem Community CIC operates from the Pavilion in Burslem Park, Stoke-on-Trent. Before the CIC took over the lease, the Pavilion was closed and was not being utilised as a community facility. In February 2025, the CIC reopened the ground floor of the Pavilion as a cafe, providing a welcoming, accessible space for residents, families and visitors to the park. Since opening, the CIC has delivered a range of free community initiatives, including: Easter egg hunts, Christmas event and family activities. More than 1,000 free children's meals. Pizza-making activities for children. Community events designed to bring families together and encourage greater use of the park. The CIC is also working towards reopening the upstairs area of the Pavilion, which is currently undergoing renovation with the intention of creating a dedicated space for events and community activities. Unfortunately, progress on the upstairs renovations has been delayed by ongoing issues and the lack of funding. Despite these challenges, the CIC remains committed to developing the Pavilion into a thriving community hub that can offer even more opportunities for local residents. The CIC's achievements demonstrate that its value extends beyond the cafe itself. It is helping to restore a community asset, bring people back into Burslem Park and create opportunities for families to come together.
