During its first financial year, Lancashire Women in Business CIC has worked to establish an inclusive, supportive and empowering community for women across Lancashire, particularly those in business, entrepreneurship, employment or seeking personal and professional development. The company has delivered a programme of accessible networking events, workshops and social gatherings designed to foster meaningful connections, reduce social isolation, encourage collaboration and support women's confidence and development. Activities during the reporting period included a community launch event attended by approximately 50 women, a vision board and goal-setting workshop, a Ramadan wellbeing and reflection event, informal social gatherings and a business-focused coffee morning featuring financial education and discussion. These activities have provided opportunities for women from diverse backgrounds and at different stages of their personal and professional journeys to share experiences, exchange knowledge, develop supportive relationships and access practical guidance in a welcoming environment. The company has also established a growing digital community through WhatsApp and social media, extending opportunities for networking, peer support, knowledge sharing and community engagement beyond its in-person events. Through these activities, Lancashire Women in Business CIC has contributed to strengthening local networks, promoting women's empowerment, encouraging entrepreneurship and creating spaces where women feel connected, supported and inspired. The company operates on a not-for-profit basis, with its directors contributing their time voluntarily and resources directed towards delivering its community-focused objectives. The first year has established a foundation for continued community engagement and the development of further educational, networking and collaborative opportunities for women across Lancashire.
