In earlier years the full monthly repayments on the company's mortgages were charged to the profit and loss account as interest. Only the interest element should have been charged; the capital element reduces the mortgage liability. The comparative figures have been restated: mortgage interest for the year ended 31 March 2025 is reduced by £10,330 to £5,526, the corporation tax charge for that year is increased by £1,963, the mortgage liability at 31 March 2025 is reduced by £29,360 to £157,885, corporation tax payable at that date is increased by £5,417 in respect of the years ended 31 March 2023 to 2025, and retained earnings at 31 March 2025 are increased by £23,943. The additional corporation tax for the earlier years is being settled with HM Revenue and Customs.
