Basis of Preparation
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention, in accordance with applicable UK accounting standards, including FRS 102, and the requirements of the Companies Act 2006.
Turnover Recognition
Turnover represents income earned from international freight forwarding, shipping, customs clearance and related logistics services, excluding VAT. Revenue is recognised when the relevant services have been performed and the amount can be measured reliably, irrespective of when payment is received.
Cost of Sales
Direct costs associated with freight forwarding, shipping, haulage, customs clearance and related services are recognised in the period in which the corresponding services are provided.
Trade Debtors
Trade debtors are initially recognised at the invoiced amount and subsequently measured at the amount expected to be recovered, after appropriate allowances for doubtful debts.
Creditors and Borrowings
Trade creditors and borrowings are recognised as liabilities. Finance charges and interest are recognised in the Profit and Loss Account over the relevant period.
Tangible and Intangible Fixed Assets
Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost less accumulated depreciation and impairment. Intangible assets, including goodwill where applicable, are accounted for in accordance with the relevant accounting standards and reviewed for impairment where required.
Taxation
Corporation Tax is recognised based on taxable profits for the financial year, adjusted in accordance with applicable UK tax legislation.
Going Concern
The financial statements are prepared on a going concern basis where the directors have a reasonable expectation that the company will have adequate resources to continue operating for the foreseeable future.
