The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 28 February 2026
Additional information
Statement of Directors' Responsibilities The directors are responsible for preparing the Directors' Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and regulations. Company law requires the directors to prepare financial statements for each financial year. Under that law the directors have elected to prepare the financial statements in accordance with United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (United Kingdom Accounting Standards and applicable law). Under company law the directors must not approve the financial statements unless they are satisfied that they give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the company and of the surplus or deficit of the company for that period. In preparing the financial statements the directors are required to: select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; make judgments and accounting estimates that are reasonable and prudent; prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the company will continue in business. The directors are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the company's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the company and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the company and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities. The directors are responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the corporate and financial information included on the company's website. Legislation in the United Kingdom governing the preparation and dissemination of financial statements may differ from legislation in other jurisdictions. Small Company Rules This report has been prepared in accordance with the special provisions relating to companies subject to the small companies regime within Part 15 of the Companies Act 2006.

Active LD CIC provides inclusive physical activity opportunities for adults with learning disabilities, helping people to become more active, confident and connected to their communities. During the year, we delivered Personal Bests in Winchester and Chichester, established new regular athletics and tennis groups in Chichester, and developed other opportunities to help people move from one-off events into regular physical activity. In October 2025 launched our first water based sports event - the Aqua Bests. We also piloted a training workshop at the University of Winchester to help educate students on what inclusive opportunities look like to people with learning disabilities. Our activities enable people to try new activities, celebrate achievement and, build confidence and friendships, and feel included and connected. Our Personal Bests events brought together more than 300 adults with learning disabilities, supported by coaches, sports clubs and volunteers. People with learning disabilities help shape our work through our LD Advisors and participant feedback, ensuring our activities are developed with our community rather than simply for them.
Our stakeholders include people with learning disabilities, LD Advisors, participants, families, carers, day-service staff, volunteers, coaches, sports clubs, activity providers, funders, universities and community partners. Funders during the year included Chichester District Council, Winchester City Council and Simplyhealth. Sussex Community Foundation provided restricted funding for the Chichester Personal Bests 2026. We consult stakeholders through regular conversations, participant feedback, surveys, meetings and our LD Advisors. People with learning disabilities help shape our activities, communications and policies. Feedback has led to practical changes, including accessible policies, quiet spaces and neurodiversity awareness training. We use feedback to continually improve our work and ensure it is developed with our community, rather than simply for it.
Betty Chadwick, Executive Director, received a salary during the financial year. This was a minimal salary in the first year, in line with the budget, and is disclosed in the company's accounts under director's remuneration. The company's non-executive director positions are not salaried. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for directors' loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
