Feminist Exchange Network (FEN) is a South Glasgow-based collective of women and marginalised genders. We use social and activist art as a way to involve people in reimagining the local economy, discussing ideas of feminism and economics in a way that is accessible to everyone. Summary of activities: April 2025 – March 2026 In May 2025, we began TITIPI training, looking at how we can divest from corporate technologies and platforms that fuel genocide and other forms of planetary harm. This is the beginning of a longer-term process which we will continue to work towards as our capacity allows. In July 2025, FEN member Amy Conway established a new FEN Book Club, creating a regular space for collective reading, discussion and learning. Meeting bi-monthly, the group has discussed a wide range of books exploring feminism, care, disability justice, capitalism, climate justice, Palestine and life beyond the gender binary. The Book Club is intended to continue, although Amy will be stepping back from October due to maternity leave, and we will be looking for other FEN members to take on its facilitation. In September 2025, we celebrated 10 Years of FEN with an event and talk at Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA), providing an opportunity to reflect on the development of the network and the many people, projects and collaborations that have shaped FEN over the past decade. For International Women’s Day, co-director Peilin Shi organised Women on Screen, bringing together films from FEN and international artists. The programme included FEN films Planet Abundance I and Planet Abundance II, and Feminist Economics Football, all filmed by Emma Bowen. They were screened alongside Tapestries of Light, Life, and Community in Guatemala by Paula Recinos, Behind the Healing Herbs by Wucha Wulan Dari, and Voices: Memories on a Plate Season 2 by Ng Yiqin. The screenings were followed by discussion and exchange.
Alongside the activities delivered during 2025–26, the year also involved conversations, project development and fundraising for future work. We worked with FEN members and partners including Romano Lav, MILK, Amina and GBCT to develop ideas for new projects and explore how FEN could create more opportunities for members to lead and shape activity.
