Chairman's Report
During 2025, Two Wheels for Life (TWFL) entered its tenth year of operation, raising funds from the motorcycle community. Two Wheels continued to support Riders for Health’s life-changing programmes in Africa. Riders for Health mobilises frontline health workers and transports vital healthcare goods and services to hard-to-reach rural communities using safe, well-managed motorcycles and ambulances.
Fundraising continued throughout 2025, directly supporting Riders for Health programmes through equipment, training, operational support and close liaison with programme directors. Further detail is included in the Trustees’ Report.
Following the conclusion of Day of Champions after 34 years, a new format was introduced at the 2025 British MotoGP™: the GP of Champions. Activities across the race weekend were supported by riders, teams, MotoGP™, IRTA, the FIM and the event organisers. The weekend raised more than £152,000, continuing the remarkable fundraising legacy of Day of Champions.
During 2025, TWFL broadened its programme of fundraising events and collaborations. A major milestone was Yamaha Motor Europe N.V.’s renewal of its partnership with Riders for Health and TWFL for a further three years.
Throughout 2025, TWFL again received unwavering support from the MotoGP™ paddock, including Dorna Sports, IRTA (the International Road-Racing Teams Association), the FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme) and the teams and riders participating in the MotoGP™ World Championship. We are extremely grateful for their continued commitment.
Digital development remained central to data collection, analysis and continuous improvement. During the year, Riders for Health completed a digital transformation and operational data audit, supporting more efficient resource allocation and problem identification.
Millions of people across Africa continue to benefit from Riders for Health transport systems in rural areas. These programmes are delivered locally, with technical and financial support from TWFL, and we continue to work together towards the shared goal of extending reliable healthcare to as many people as possible.
In 2025, 61 new Yamaha AG100 motorcycles were delivered to Riders for Health in The Gambia, helping to stabilise the fleet and enabling health workers to reach remote communities safely and reliably. TWFL also facilitated the delivery of 300 items of riding gear and clothing to Riders for Life Nigeria.
Finally, I would like to recognise TWFL’s staff, my fellow trustees, our CEO and all our incredible volunteers.
The Chairman, CEO and trustees place on record the charity’s gratitude for the commitment of our small and dedicated staff throughout another outstanding year.
Chris Berriman, Chairman.

REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2025
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Objectives and aims
Two Wheels for Life is a registered charity. The primary purpose of Two Wheels for Life is to support the reliable and predictable delivery of vital health care, goods, and services, to the most remote and vulnerable people in rural Africa using well managed and maintained transport - an often-neglected aspect of health care for African communities. Our support is focused on UN Sustainability Goal 3.
Our vision is of a world where healthcare reaches everyone, everywhere. To do this, we know that reliable, well-maintained transport must be at the heart of health systems. Two Wheels for Life works with health-related partners across Africa to help fund them in providing transport and maintenance services to keep health care on the road.
The objectives of the charity is to support the advancement of health for the public benefit through the promotion of access to healthcare for people in need, in any part of the world, but particularly on the continent of Africa. Two Wheels for Life provides grants and expertise, in particular but not exclusively to:
(a) develop and sustain transport networks necessary for the delivery of healthcare;
(b) provide and maintain motorcycles, other vehicles and technical equipment necessary for the delivery of healthcare and to provide training for the development of sustainable transport and healthcare systems
(c) provide training and advisory support services for the development of sustainable transport and healthcare systems, including the following Riders for Health services:
Outreach Health Care
Training health workers how to safely ride a motorcycle and conduct daily mechanical checks on the bikes ensures that they can consistently and reliably reach six times more people and double the time they can spend in communities than would have been the case without the motorcycles.
Sample Transport
Motorcycle couriers safely transport blood and sputum samples from local health clinics to regional laboratories, often halving the time it takes for patients to receive life-saving test results.
Emergency Referrals
In an emergency situation, reliable transport really can mean the difference between life and death. The four wheeled vehicles used by the Riders for Health are designed especially for the harsh African terrain, transporting patients from homes and health centres to hospitals.
Supply Chain Distribution
The first step in health care delivery is getting supplies, such as vaccines, mosquito nets and medication from the factory to the field. Transporting these vital supplies from warehouses in major cities to rural health centres ensures that they can constantly have the medication they need for their patients.
Vehicle/driver/rider training
To ensure health workers stay safe on the roads, and to keep vehicles in the best possible condition, riders and drivers are trained how to safely control their vehicles. All health workers mobilised by Riders for Health in Africa must complete a 10-day training course in road safety, off-road driving and basic vehicle maintenance.
Employment
Maintenance, logistics and infrastructure requirements create employment and a skilled workforce. This is not the primary aim of the organisation, but it should be noted that as a result of the work we support there are almost 1,000 people who are in employment that may not have been otherwise employed.
Digital Development
TWO WHEELS FOR LIFE LIMITED (REGISTERED NUMBER: 10086447)
REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2025
The establishment of digital processes that work in tandem with the on-the-ground service delivery is seen as a vital addition. Riders are now able to have at-a-glance information for stores management, journey planning, servicing schedules to lower costs and create even more efficiency. Riders can monitor health care provided and take-up on health care products and services. These are in collaboration with the ministries of health partners.
Impact Measurement
It is important for continual improvement within the Riders' system to monitor and measure the impact of the work. This is also important for reporting to donors and partners.
Leadership training
It is vital for sustainability that the leadership in the Africa programmes has access to development and training. Two Wheels for Life supports this way of making sure that the programmes are deeply rooted in the countries in which they operate and have the local leadership that they need.
Working together for success
Two Wheels for Life is a partnership operation. Our aim is to underpin the work of the Riders for Health organisation, serving rural communities in Africa, giving them predictable and reliable access to their beneficiaries. We work with partners at all levels of the health care delivery chain. Driven by the same commitment to a positive health outcome as our partners, such shared objectives have inspired us to create a sustainable infrastructure that complements existing systems, eliminates waste and builds in-country capacity.
Public Benefit
In setting Two Wheels for Life's objectives and planning our activities, the trustees are satisfied that Two Wheels for Life has given careful consideration to both the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit and advancement of health for the public benefit. The details of Two Wheels for Life's activities and achievements in the report show how Two Wheels for Life meets the criteria. The trustees always ensure that the activities we undertake are in line with our charitable objectives and aims.
Riders for Health is an African social enterprise and the Riders' programme teams are world leaders in the management and maintenance of vehicles for health focused organisations. It is comprised of
four charitable organisations sharing the same humanitarian mission, which operate in the Gambia, Lesotho, Malawi and Nigeria
- Vision - A world in which healthcare reaches everyone, everywhere
- Mission - To ensure reliable transport is available for healthcare services
- Values - Local leadership, gender equality, cost effectiveness and partnership collaboration
TWO WHEELS FOR LIFE SUPPORTS THE WORK OF RIDERS FOR HEALTH AS THEIR VISION, MISSION AND VALUES ARE ENDORSED AND APPROVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF TWO WHEELS FOR LIFE.
Grantmaking
Two Wheels for Life only makes donations in line with its specific objectives, namely directly to support Riders for Health programmes in Africa. The directors and trustees will jointly agree on the reasons for (including benefits to the relevant programme), timing of and size of donation before the donation is made.
TWO WHEELS FOR LIFE LIMITED (REGISTERED NUMBER: 10086447)
REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2025
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Charitable activities 2025
Two Wheels for Life (TWFL) and Riders for Health continued to work closely during 2025 to strengthen transport-for-healthcare programmes in The Gambia, Lesotho, Malawi and Nigeria. Reliable, well-maintained vehicles, supported by appropriate training and digital systems, help health services reach remote rural communities.
The year brought significant operational and external challenges, including reductions in US aid affecting a number of African countries and a major fuel crisis in Malawi. Despite these pressures, TWFL continued to support Riders for Health’s locally led programmes and their work with ministries of health and other partners.
Fleet stabilisation in The Gambia was a major priority. Working with Yamaha Motor Europe, 61 new Yamaha AG100 motorcycles were delivered in June 2025. The motorcycles enable health workers to reach remote communities quickly, safely and reliably, while replacing vehicles that had reached or exceeded their optimum operating life.
TWFL also facilitated a shipment from Yamaha Motor Europe of 300 items of riding gear and clothing for Riders for Life Nigeria staff, supporting rider safety and programme delivery.
Riders for Health completed a digital transformation and operational data audit, improving the information available for resource allocation, problem identification and continuous improvement. This work also supported publication, in April 2025, of a 2024 impact report for operations in The Gambia.
In March 2025, the Riders Revival in The Gambia brought together Riders for Health and TWFL staff in the largest joint gathering in the organisations’ history. It provided an important forum to consider shared challenges, working practices and priorities, and to agree common standards and goals.
Programme support and monitoring
TWFL continued to support operational review, digital development and close liaison with programme leaders to promote consistency, efficiency, cost effectiveness and sustainable local leadership.
Fundraising and partnerships
TWFL expanded its programme of fundraising events and partnerships during 2025. Yamaha Motor Europe renewed its partnership with Riders for Health and TWFL for a further three years. A new partnership with Bike Shed Moto Co. supported fundraising events, safe-riding courses and wider engagement with the motorcycling community.
MotoGP™ and the GP of Champions
TWFL delivered MotoGP™ Experience Days across the 2025 season, giving more than 1,800 attendees behind-the-scenes paddock access and raising over £110,000. At the Dutch TT centenary, 1,000 tickets were made available for an Experience Day and associated activities; the combined activities raised more than £52,000.
At the British Grand Prix, the new GP of Champions format succeeded Day of Champions, which had run for 34 years. More than 500 fans accessed the paddock programme, and fundraising across the weekend raised over £152,000.
Other 2025 highlights included TWFL’s first auction at the Adventure Bike Rider Festival, which raised over £30,000; a live auction at the WorldSBK round at Donington Park, which raised over £23,000; activities at the Malle Mile Festival, which raised over £15,000; and the launch of The Big Ride motorcycle treasure hunt. Bike Shed safe-riding courses with the Metropolitan Police attracted 35 attendees across three events and raised over £2,500.
Communications, retail and community fundraising
TWO WHEELS FOR LIFE LIMITED (REGISTERED NUMBER: 10086447)
REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2025
TWFL continued to build awareness and diversify income through its website, newsletters, social media, online auctions and community fundraising. The year concluded with the charity’s largest festive online auction to date, featuring more than 100 lots.
The charity also developed new ways for supporters to participate, including the Donate. Save Lives. Win! campaign, the Gift a Motorcycle initiative, the coast-to-coast 125cc fundraising ride and a new TAVERI x Two Wheels clothing range.
These activities complemented the continuing legacies and gifts-in-memory programme and helped introduce the charity’s work to new audiences.
Impact of charitable activities
Fundraising and programme support during 2025 enabled Riders for Health to maintain and expand vehicles and systems that give rural communities access to essential healthcare. The Board remains focused on the long-term reliability, safety and sustainability of this work.
The trustees are grateful to TWFL’s staff, volunteers, donors, corporate partners and the motorcycle community, and to MotoGP™, Dorna Sports, IRTA, the FIM, riders and racing teams for their support throughout the year.
Gifts and legacies
TWFL continued to encourage supporters to remember the charity in their wills and promoted gifts in memory through its website and communications. These forms of support contribute to the charity’s longer-term financial resilience.
Monitoring and liaison
Regular liaison with Riders for Health programme leaders continued throughout 2025. The March Riders Revival strengthened joint planning and communication and enabled programme teams to share experience, agree standards and consider priorities for sustainable growth.
Our plans for fundraising and programme support in 2026
TWFL will continue to broaden its fundraising base, build partnerships and use the renewed Yamaha relationship and motorcycle events to support fleet renewal, training and reliable transport for healthcare. The charity will also continue to support digital development and evidence-led impact measurement across Riders for Health programmes.

Services
Shaw Gibbs Ltd provides Two Wheels for Life with financial services including payroll.
The Two Wheels for Life board provide governance, guidance and also active support in fundraising and finance management.
Reserves policy
The trustees look forward for a minimum period of one year to set the appropriate level of reserves for the organisation. In considering this, attention is being given to a) committed expenditure b) the liquidity of existing reserves and the likelihood of income. At the year end the trustees considered that free reserves should be between 6 and 12 months' expenditure. The reserves policy is kept under quarterly review.
Principal risks and uncertainties
The Trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed and are satisfied that systems are in place to mitigate exposure to major risks.
Principal risks include key personnel risk, loss of support from key funders and resource providers and wider economic or pandemic risks.
We are seeking to mitigate these risks by continuing to broaden our donor base, seeking pro-bono services, and maintaining a strong reserves policy.
Risks are also mitigated through maintaining good contacts in the motorcycling community and charitable sector, working closely with funders and broadening the source and range of fund providers, reducing dependencies on individuals and maintaining resources on a prudent basis.

The directors consider that the individual carrying values of assets are supportable by their value in use. |
