The volunteer team (of which over 1,000 volunteers have contributed this year) derive from a wide variety of backgrounds and include individuals, families, charities, schools, and strategic support from volunteer directors. For many volunteers, they have commented on how writing positive letters has been beneficial to themselves too, commenting I love the joy of being able to write to people, it’s a privilege. I know how happy post makes me and it’s a small thing I can easily fit into my life. Thank you for all you do to enable us volunteers to continue and for making it such an easy and pleasant experience for us as well as the recipients of the post. The organisations and recipients who receive the letters describe how the letter packs left them overwhelmed, are great for wellbeing and bring comfort and joy. Support different topics of conversation and help to trigger memories and enable residents to feel connected to the outside world.
