Companies House Directors Report Over the last financial year, WED activities delivered significant social value by strengthening community connections, supporting leadership development, and creating safe spaces for shared learning and dialogue. Through events, workshops, and collaborative initiatives, WED brought together individuals from defence, industry, public services, and the wider community to exchange experiences, build networks, and promote inclusive leadership. A key benefit has been leadership upskilling. Participants gained practical insights into leadership in complex environments, including communication, resilience, ethical decision-making, and inclusive leadership practices. These sessions encouraged reflection on leadership behaviours and provided tools that attendees could apply in their workplaces and communities. WED also delivered impact through its annual Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) conference, which brought together speakers and delegates from multiple agencies, including charities, community organisations, public sector bodies, and safeguarding professionals. The conference strengthened cross-sector collaboration, shared best practice, and supported greater awareness of prevention, support pathways, and leadership responsibility in addressing VAWG. By amplifying diverse voices and lived experiences, WED activities helped challenge stigma around issues such as workplace bullying, trauma, and wellbeing. Through open discussion and partnership with multi-agency networks, these initiatives strengthened trust, encouraged bystander accountability, and contributed to building a more informed, supportive, and resilient community.
