NOMAD MAISON LTD

Notes to the Financial Statements

for the Period Ended 31 March 2026

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

Turnover represents amounts receivable from the sale of rugs and homeware and from events associated with the company's retail activities, stated net of VAT, discounts and returns. Revenue from the sale of goods is recognised when the significant risks and rewards of ownership have transferred to the customer, normally when the goods are delivered or collected. Revenue from events is recognised when the event takes place and the associated services have been provided. Amounts received in advance of the supply of goods or services are recognised as deferred income until the relevant performance obligations have been fulfilled.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost less accumulated depreciation and any impairment losses. Depreciation is charged to write off the cost of tangible fixed assets, less their estimated residual values, over their expected useful economic lives. Leasehold improvements, including shop fit-out works, are depreciated on a straight-line basis over five years, or the remaining lease term if shorter. Depreciation commences when the assets are available for use.

    Valuation information and policy

Stocks, comprising rugs and homeware held for resale, are valued at the lower of cost and estimated selling price less costs to complete and sell. Cost includes the purchase price and any directly attributable costs of bringing the goods to their present location and condition. Tangible fixed assets are stated at historical cost less accumulated depreciation and any impairment losses.
