CIC 34 — Community Interest Company Report
Company name: NAKSHI C.I.C.
Company number: 16139896
Year ending: 31 December 2025
This report has been prepared in accordance with the Community Interest Company Regulations 2005 (simplified report).
Part 1 — General description of the company's activities and impact
Describe the activities the company has carried out during the year and how they have benefited the community.
During the period, NAKSHI C.I.C. delivered a series of hands-on embroidery workshops for members of the public and for a partner organisation. The workshops had three aims:
• Raising awareness of ethical living and ethical consumption. Each session explored where everyday textiles and homeware come from, the human and environmental cost of fast production, and how individuals can make more considered choices.
• Building practical skills for conscious consumption. Participants learned embroidery techniques they can use to mend, personalise and extend the life of clothing and household items, supporting a "slow homeware" approach of buying less and valuing what they already own.
• Promoting mental health and wellbeing. Embroidery offered participants a calm, mindful and crea-tive activity, and a chance to connect with others in a relaxed group setting.
The community benefiting from these activities is people interested in living more sustainably and ethically, and those who benefit from accessible, creative wellbeing activities. Participants left with new skills, a better understanding of the impact of their purchasing choices, and a practical way to put that understanding into action.
5 workshops delivered reaching around 100 people.
