TRUSTEES' REPORT
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 28 FEBRUARY 2026

The Trustees present their annual report together with the financial statements of the W4 Youth Limited for the  1 March 2025 to 28 February 2026. The Annual report serves the purposes of both a Trustees' report and a directors' report under company law. The Trustees confirm that the Annual report and financial statements of the charitable company comply with the current statutory requirements, the requirements of the charitable company's governing document and the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS102) (effective 1 January 2019).

Since the Company qualifies as small under section 382 of the Companies Act 2006, the Strategic report required of medium and large companies under the Companies Act 2006 (Strategic Report and Directors' Report) Regulations 2013 has been omitted.

Objectives and activities

a. Policies and objectives

The Charity's objectives are, for the public benefit, to advance life and relieve the needs of young people aged between 11 and 19 years old in the Ealing and Hounslow areas of London.

W4 Youth provides free, safe and inclusive opportunities for young people, with a particular focus on those who may otherwise have limited access to structured activities, positive role models and opportunities for personal development.

Our aim is not simply to provide activities, but to create a safe and consistent community in which young people can develop confidence, skills, friendships, resilience and a sense of belonging. Through sport, performing arts, mentoring and leadership opportunities, we seek to support young people to make positive choices and progress towards volunteering, training and employment.

In setting objectives and planning activities, the Trustees have given due consideration to the Charity Commission's guidance relating to public benefit, including its guidance on running a charity for the public benefit.

b. Strategies for achieving objectives

The Charity aims to achieve its objectives through:

1) The provision of free recreational, sporting and leisure activities provided in the interests of social welfare and designed to improve the lives, health and wellbeing of young people.

2) The provision of a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where young people can spend time outside school hours and develop positive relationships with trusted adults and their peers.

3) The provision of activities, mentoring and structured development opportunities which build young people's confidence, teamwork, organisation, communication and leadership skills.

4) The creation of pathways for older young people to progress from participants into volunteers, junior coaches and, where possible, paid employment.

5) Working with local organisations, schools, community partners and funders to increase opportunities available to young people across the local area.

Objectives and activities (continued)

c. Activities undertaken to achieve objectives

During the year W4 Youth continued to expand its free, open-access provision from its bases at Southfield Recreation Ground and the nearby church hall.

For the majority of the year, the Charity operated a programme across four evenings each week, offering football, basketball, boxing fitness, street dance, musical theatre, youth activities and mentoring. In February 2026, provision expanded to five evenings per week, representing a further significant step towards our ambition of providing support for young people throughout the week.

Participation continued to grow, with more than 200 attendances each week across the Charity's activities.

A central principle of W4 Youth is that financial circumstances should not prevent a young person from participating. Activities therefore continued to be provided free of charge, helping us reach young people from a wide range of backgrounds across Ealing and Hounslow.

Alongside regular weekly activities, the Charity continued to develop its Friday Night 5s football programme, providing organised competitive football in a safe environment and bringing together young people from W4 Youth and other local youth organisations.

The Charity also continued to develop opportunities for girls and young women to participate in sport and other activities, supporting our aim of making provision increasingly inclusive and accessible.

Our performing arts provision continued through street dance and musical theatre, giving young people opportunities to develop confidence, creativity and performance skills alongside our extensive sports programme.

During the year, the Charity also continued its Train the Trainer programme, providing a structured route for young people to develop coaching, communication, teamwork, organisation and leadership skills. The programme represents an important part of W4 Youth's longer-term aim of enabling young people to progress from participating in activities to contributing to their delivery.

W4 YOUTH LIMITED

Achievements and performance

a. Main achievements of the Company

The year to 28 February 2026 represented a significant period of growth and development for W4 Youth.
One of the Charity's principal achievements was securing sufficient funding and support to expand its
programme of free activities and increase the amount of time each week during which young people could
access W4 Youth.

By the end of the financial year, W4 Youth had expanded from four to five evenings of provision each week,
offering a broad programme of football, basketball, boxing fitness, street dance, musical theatre, youth activities
and mentoring.

Weekly participation had grown to more than 250 attendances, demonstrating both the level of local demand and
the importance of accessible youth provision in the community.

Friday Night 5s
Friday Night 5s continued to be an important part of the Charity's football provision. The programme brought
together young people from W4 Youth and other local youth organisations for organised five-a-side football.

W4 Youth entered three of its own teams into the league and provided the programme free of charge. In addition
to encouraging physical activity, Friday Night 5s provides young people with an opportunity to develop teamwork,
discipline and positive relationships with young people from different parts of the community.

Train the Trainer
The Charity continued to develop its Train the Trainer programme, initially established as a 16-week leadership
and coaching programme for young people.

The programme is designed to develop four core competencies – teamwork, organisation, communication and
coaching skills – through practical experience, individual and group support and relevant introductory football
qualifications.

The programme is particularly important to W4 Youth because it creates a pathway through the organisation:
young people can begin as participants, develop their skills and confidence and progress into volunteering, junior
coaching and future employment opportunities which supports the sustainability of W4 Youth into the future.

Sport and physical activity
Football remained one of W4 Youth's largest activities, complemented by basketball and boxing fitness and table
tennis.

Boxing fitness continued to prove particularly popular with young people and provided an additional way of
engaging those who may not participate in traditional team sports.

The Charity also continued to develop opportunities for girls to participate in football and other sporting activities,
with the longer-term aim of increasing female participation and creating leadership and coaching opportunities
for young women.

Performing arts
Street dance and musical theatre remained an important part of W4 Youth's provision, ensuring that the Charity
offered opportunities beyond sport.

Young people developed confidence and performance skills and had opportunities to perform at local events and
shows. The performing arts programme is particularly valuable in helping W4 Youth engage young people with
different interests and abilities.

Facilities and infrastructure
During the year, W4 Youth continued to benefit from two donated hubs together with use of the local church hall,
giving the Charity essential meeting and indoor activity space.

Planning permission had previously been secured for the second hub, increasing the Charity's storage capacity

Achievements and performance (continued)

and releasing additional space in the original hub for activities.

A major development during the year was progress towards the new PlayZone at Southfield Recreation Ground.
By February 2026 construction was underway, with completion anticipated shortly after the year end.

The PlayZone represents an important development for W4 Youth. Once operational, it will significantly increase
the Charity's ability to provide high-quality, free sporting opportunities and will support the planned expansion of
provision across seven days each week.

b. Review of activities

The continued expansion of W4 Youth's activities has been made possible through a combination of charitable
grants, donations from individuals, support from local businesses and community fundraising.

During the year the Charity continued to build relationships with existing and potential funders and submitted
applications to a range of charitable trusts, foundations and community funding programmes.

Fundraising focused not only on maintaining existing provision but also on developing a more sustainable
organisation capable of responding to the growing number of young people engaging with W4 Youth.

The Trustees recognise that the Charity's continued growth increases the need for sustainable core funding,
particularly to support staffing and the delivery of regular seven-day provision.

Financial review

a. Going concern

After making appropriate enquiries, the Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the Company has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future.

The Trustees therefore continue to adopt the going concern basis in preparing the financial statements. Further details regarding the adoption of the going concern basis can be found in the accounting policies.

The Trustees continue to monitor income and expenditure carefully and recognise the importance of maintaining a diverse funding base as the Charity's activities expand.

b. Reserves policy

Each year the Trustees review the financial position of the Charity and determine the appropriate level of unrestricted reserves in accordance with the Charity's Reserves Policy.

Reserves are required to manage the timing difference between income being received and expenditure being incurred, and to provide protection against unexpected reductions in income or unforeseen expenditure.

The Trustees consider that an appropriate target is to maintain unrestricted reserves equivalent to between two and three months' normal operating expenditure, subject to the availability of unrestricted funds and the Charity's continuing growth.

c. Results for the year

The Charity received donations of £67,710 in the year and had a surplus of £6,742 which increased the surplus funds brought forward of £18,358 to £25,280.

Structure, governance and management

Page 5

W4 YOUTH LIMITED

Structure, governance and management (continued)

a. Constitution

W4 Youth Limited is registered as a charitable company limited by guarantee and is governed by its Memorandum and Articles of Association.

The charitable company provides the organisational structure through which W4 Youth's operational activities are delivered.

b. Methods of appointment or election of Trustees

The management and strategic oversight of the Company is the responsibility of the Trustees, who are appointed and co-opted in accordance with the Company's governing document.

The Trustees oversee the Charity's strategy, finances, safeguarding, risk management and development and work with the operational team to ensure that W4 Youth continues to meet the needs of young people in the community.

c. Financial risk management

The Trustees have assessed the major risks to which the Company is exposed, particularly those relating to the Charity's operations, safeguarding, funding and finances.

The Trustees are satisfied that appropriate systems, policies and procedures are in place to mitigate exposure to these risks.

The Trustees recognise that maintaining sustainable income is an important consideration as W4 Youth expands its activities and therefore seek to maintain a diverse mix of grant funding, community support, business partnerships and individual donations.

Page 6

W4 YOUTH LIMITED

Plans for future periods

W4 Youth's priority for the next phase of its development is to build on the growth achieved during the year and increase the availability of free youth provision within the local community.

Following completion of the PlayZone at Southfield Recreation Ground, the Charity plans to expand its timetable to seven days per week, providing young people with access to W4 Youth every day outside school hours.

The Charity intends to continue growing its core sports programme, including football, basketball and boxing fitness, alongside street dance, musical theatre, youth activities and mentoring.  Tennis will also be added to the sports available to young people.

Particular emphasis will be placed on expanding opportunities for girls and young women, including girls' football and progression into leadership and coaching roles.

W4 Youth also intends to continue and expand its Train the Trainer programme, providing further cohorts of young people with structured coaching and leadership development and creating pathways into volunteering and paid junior coaching opportunities.

A major longer-term objective remains the development of a permanent Youth and Community Hub at Southfield Recreation Ground. The proposed facility is intended to provide significantly improved indoor space for youth activities alongside facilities that can benefit the wider community.

The Trustees will continue to work with Ealing Council, community partners, funders and supporters to develop the project and secure the funding required for its delivery.

The Charity's longer-term ambition is to establish W4 Youth as a sustainable seven-day youth provision which supports young people throughout their teenage years and provides a clear progression route from participation through leadership, volunteering and employment.
