Company activities and impact

Motive8 Youth uses the power of sport to engage young people from the local community. In the year which the financial year report relates to with have provided a number of free weekly sport sessions which any young person can engage with. We ran 2 sport sessions which saw us engage with over 200 young people. We also ran a number of holiday camps including - Easter activity camp – 2 weeks - Whitsun activity camp – 1 weeks - Summer activity camp – 4 weeks - October activity camp – 1 week The camps provided not only sports activities but various form of youth-based teambuilding activities and educational workshops. Through our work in the year younger people have engaged in positive activities, build positive relationships with staff and peers and increase physical activity levels through sport participation

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s stakeholders are young people from the community, directors (whom have grown up in the local community) and local schools. The organisation’s aims are to provide more positive outcomes for young people in the community whether that’s through participation, empowerment and providing a voice for young people to be heard. Consultation with young people is at the forefront of what we set out to achieve, this provided us to understand what days of the week young people would like activity and what future activities they would like. Working with schools allows us to use facilities in the local community close to where young people can attend. Our camps are usually targeted to specific groups of young people where local school help identify the young people who are best suited to attend through advertising and giving out letters in the schools. Directors and majority of the coaches who work on session have been brought up in the local area therefore understand the needs of the young people we work with, they also understand the geography of the area which helps when identifying new areas or facilities
