Rainbow Families Yorkshire CIC is an events, social and support group for LGBTQ+ families and persons who identify as LGBTQ+ seeking support and information when embarking on their journeys to become parents. We use online platforms, host face to face meetups/events for families and adult only spaces in order to tackle isolation and poor mental health. Over the last financial year we have: - Continued to provide safe and welcoming events across Yorkshire for families to attend at little to no cost. Our children are raised knowing tolerance and positive difference from a young age. - Contributed to NHS Maternity projects which will lead to better care provisions for LGBTQ+ families in the future. - Welcomed an additional 400 people to our social group. - Aided new parents with help around the house, shopping and being available to just chat. - Families have connected within the group which has lead to no longer needed baby items being passed to others who are really struggling. - Provided information from an organisation that makes them feel seen and heard because we all share lived experiences of raising our children as LGBTQ+ parents. - Over the year we have continued to build positive links to other organisations across Yorkshire and break down barriers to services which led RFY to be nominated for The National Diversity Awards 2026.
