The company have delivered several community-centred sessions and groups for autistic people across the East Midlands. Our adult group runs monthly in Grantham, providing space for autistic adults to socialise and interact, offering them regular activity and supporting skills development. We also run a regular group for 11-18-year-olds, which delivers bi-weekly sessions supporting autistic young people in a similar manner. Our participants have said that these sessions are an essential part of their social calendar, and that they have supported their skills in teamwork, communication and problem-solving. Finally, we have delivered a touring programme known as “CAT on Tour” to several literary festivals and youth spaces, enabling accessible sessions at each location, providing a curated experience for each of our participants.
The company undertakes regular evaluation consultations with participants. Our adults receive regular evaluation forms, and our young people complete evaluations in conjunction with their caregivers. We assess the effectiveness of our sessions and discuss our plans for the future on a regular basis with our participants. We also consult regularly with our primary venue, discussing our collaboration.
No director received remuneration for carrying out their duties as a director. During the financial year, the following directors received payments under separate freelance arrangements for delivering creative and community sessions on behalf of the CIC: Lawrence Mahon: £3066.70 Olivia Macnab: £1000.00 These payments related solely to services provided under the freelance arrangements and were not payments for acting as directors.
