About the Collective North Down Craft Collective brings together artists and makers who support one another and share their experience and skills with communities across the Ards and North Down area. Activities and Community Impact Respectful Relationships Workshops. Between its incorporation on 27th January 2025 and 31st January 2026, the group successfully applied for funding from the Northern Ireland Executive to deliver two days of craft workshops through the Ending Violence Against Women and Girls initiative. (The workshops explored the theme of ‘Respectful Relationships’ and took place in February 2026) Members facilitated a series of craft workshops at Copelands Care Home in Donaghadee. In total, 60 residents attended, many of whom are living with dementia. Art and Craft Fairs The collective also organised a Summer Art and Craft Fair and a Christmas Fair at WWT Castle Espie. By offering members discounted participation rates, the group helps them showcase their work and sustain their artistic practice. Member Forums and Collaboration The group held four member forums, bringing artists and makers together to network, exchange ideas, and collaborate. As many artists work in isolation, members value the regular connection provided through these forums and the collective’s social media groups.
