Structure, governance and management

The charity is a company limited by guarantee incorporated in England and Wales and registered with the Charity Commission. It is governed by its memorandum and articles of association. The trustees, who are also the directors of the company for the purposes of company law, are listed above; those who served during the year are shown with their dates of appointment or resignation where these fall within it.

Trustees are appointed in accordance with the charity's governing document, taking into consideration the skills, experience and commitment required to support effective governance and the charity's objectives.

Objectives and activities

Grow Volunteer Consulting supports entrepreneurship and economic development in emerging markets by connecting small business owners with experienced volunteer professionals. Through practical coaching, mentoring and consulting, the charity helps entrepreneurs strengthen their business skills, improve performance, pursue sustainable growth and create employment opportunities in their communities.

The trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit when planning the charity's activities. The charity is a public benefit entity.

Achievements and performance

During 2025–26, the charity continued its work supporting entrepreneurship and economic opportunity through volunteer-led business coaching and consulting. The charity maintained relationships with partners and supporters, helping strengthen the foundations for future programme delivery and sustainable job creation in emerging markets.

Financial review

Total income for the year was £3,500 and total expenditure £107, giving net income of £3,393. Total funds at the year end were £9,369, all unrestricted.

Reserves policy
The trustees aim to maintain sufficient unrestricted reserves to support ongoing charitable activities, meet operating commitments and manage fluctuations in funding. Reserves are reviewed in relation to expected income, expenditure and programme delivery needs.

The charity's gross income was below £25,000, so the accounts have not been independently examined or audited (Charities Act 2011 sections 144 and 145). The company is also entitled to exemption from audit under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006.

Statement of trustees' responsibilities

The trustees (who are also directors of the charity for the purposes of company law) are responsible for preparing the Trustees' Annual Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards, including FRS 102 The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland and the Charities SORP (FRS 102). Company law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charitable company and of the incoming resources and application of resources, including the income and expenditure, for that period. In preparing these financial statements the trustees are required to select suitable accounting policies and apply them consistently; observe the methods and principles of the Charities SORP; make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; state whether applicable UK Accounting Standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; and prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation. The trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charitable company and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charitable company and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

This report has been prepared in accordance with the special provisions of Part 15 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

Approved by the trustees on 10 September 2026 and signed on their behalf by
