COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

WARMINSTER BOOK FESTIVAL CIC

Company Number: 15881822 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 August 2026

Company activities and impact

The company collects books from donations which is warmly welcomed by residents. Funds are raised through online platforms from these donations. Funds are used to advertise not just through the website and social media but also in hard copy for those not able or wishing to use the internet. The festival will become an annual event from next year so this year a writing competition was open in 2 groups to encourage creativity and interaction. We also sell donated books at markets stalls throughout the year and engage with the community at such events. We are generously supported by our Town Council who, like us recognise the need to get off screen and interact with others in books and writing clubs is beneficial for mental and emotional health. We remain committed to organising a free weekend of talks and workshops to enhance all ages.

Consultation with stakeholders

Warminster Town Council are our major stakeholder and are provided with minutes of committee meetings as well as regular face to face meetings and an annual public report at the Town Council. They requested the event become an annual event and this is happening from next year, Other stakeholders are sponsors of writing competitions. They are the Bishopstrow Hotel and Cooper and Tanner, estate agents. Both are consulted prior to sponsorship, acknowledged in all media and logos on advertising. Both are very happy with the relationship.
