Activities and Achievements
Bu'r flwyddyn hon yn brysur gyda archebion wythnosol a phenwythnos rheolaidd gan ein cwsmeriaid arferol. Yn ogystal â grwpiau lleol, teuluoedd a'n cwsmeriaid mwy cyson, cafodd y Ganolfan lwyddiant pellach drwy dderbyn grantiau gan nifer o endidau. Bu i Gyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Conwy warantu arian i gynnal Canolfan Gynnes am yr ail flwyddyn  – a phenderfynwyd greu clwb crefft a chlwb gwaith coed. Bu y ddau yn llwyddiannus a adborth hyfryd gan y mynychwyr. Roeddent wedi llwyddo i greu darnau o waith i helpu natur ac bawb ei fwynhau yn yr ardd.
Cynhaliwyd diwrnod dathlu'r tywydd yn y pentref gyda sgwrs agored am brofiadau trigolion at y storm garw ‘Daragh' ddaeth a toriad yn y cyflenwad trydan ir pentref 2025. Roedd gwersi ‘iw rhannu gan swyddogion Scottish Power ar y diwrnod a National Energy Action yna i helpu gyda tlodi tanwydd. Roedd sesiwn hwyliog gyda y gwyddonydd Sbarc i'r plant. Cafwyd noson adloniant a chodi arian Curry a Chan yn y Caffi eto eleni. Rhoddodd y perchennog luniaeth i'w brynnu, a chodwyd arian drwy godi tâl am y noson er budd y gofod cymunedol yn y Ganolfan. Mae'r Bwrdd yn diolch yn fawr i tim Caffi Siabod am ei cydweithrediad bob tro a'i haelioni yn ein ymdrechion codi pres.
Bu i aelodau'r Bwrdd ddechrau blwyddyn o dreialu system awtomataidd ar gyfer anfonebu wrth archebu, Hallmaster. Mae'n edrych yn debyg bod ein defnyddwyr wedi gallu troi i'w ddefnyddio yn reit hwylus a aelodau'r pwyllgor dal i ffeindio eu traed am y flwyddyn gyntaf.
Bu i aelodau'r Bwrdd ehangu'r ddarpariaeth ar gyfer pobl ifanc yn y pentref gyda gweithgareddau awyr agored (arianwyd gan Gomisiynnydd yr Heddlu). Treialwyd Glwb Ieuenctid wythnosol am 4 wythnos gyda gweithgaredd ‘dod i adnabod' ardal. Bu i'r plant gael creu zine, llunio map, creu gwaith digidol ac ysgrifennu stori am ei bro gyda diolch i hwluswyr cymwysedig. Parhaodd y clwb wedyn yn yr awyr agored gyda sesiynnau adnabod planhigion y fro a adnabod tiriogaeth y fro, bod hynnu at amaeth, coedwigaeth, twristiaeth, hamdden neu addysg. Cynhaliwyd bob sesiwn trwy'r Gymraeg. Pwrpas y gweithgareddau yn eu cyfanrwydd oedd agor llygad y bobol ifanc i'r cyfleoedd o'u cwmpas wrth iddynt dyfu a dewis llwybrau hamdden, addysg a gwaith yn y dyfodol. Rydym yn cynllunio parhau gyda gweithgareddau i'r bobol ifanc ar raddfa unwaith y mis dros y gaeaf.
Yn ogystal mae rhai o Bwrdd y Ganolfan yn cynllunio nosweithiau Safari Nos ar gyfer plant 8+ ac oedolion/rhieni dwywaith er mwyn mesur diddordeb yn y math yna o weithgaredd gan ddefnyddio'r natur o'n cwmpas a'r Ganolfan yn bencadlys a gofod dysgu a chysgodi ychwanegol.
Bu i'r Bwrdd hefyd drefnu sesiynau Ysgol Goedwig i'r rhai oedran cynradd mewn cydweithrediad gyda'r Pwyllgor Digwyddidau a ‘Amser Chwarae' yn y pentref. Roedd yr adborth yn bositif iawn gyda'r plant ar rhieni yn gweld twf yn hyder a chysylltiad y plant gyda'i gilydd a gyda natur lleol. Roedd y sesiynau yn cael eu cynnal yn y Gymraeg. Mae' diwallu profiadau dwyieithog yn bwysig a hoffem weld hynnu yn un o egwyddorion craidd y Pwyllgor.
Mae'r maes chwarae ar yr iard yn denu llogi ar gyfer partion pen blwydd yn y Ganolfan. Trefnodd Pwyllgor Digwyddiadau Capel Curig bartïon Calan Gaeaf a Phasg i'r plant, mae'r Clwb Chwarae'r Plant yn parhau ar sail misol ac yn llwyddo'n wych, dan reolaeth y Pwyllgor hwnnw.
Mae Pwyllgor Digwyddiadau yn storio nwyddau angenrheidiol i gynnal y Carnifal flynyddol yn y Ganolfan yn ddi-dal ar hyn o bryd,  ar y dealltwiaeth bod plethu a gwell chyd-weithio rhwng y ddau Bwyllgor, er nad yw hynny yn gweithio'n rhwydd ar y foment, gallwn parhau i'r cyfeiriad yna.
Mae'r Cyngor Cymuned yn defnyddio y Ganolfan at bob cyfarfod swyddogol.
At y dyfodol rhaid ystyried darpar ymddeoliadau rhai aelodau o'r Bwrdd ar ol gwasanaeth hir ar Fwrdd y Ganolfan. Mae angen aelodau newydd ar y Bwrdd i gynnal y gofod a'i weithgareddau gymdeithasol. Heb aelodau newydd y peryg yw bydd y gymuned yn colli y gofod am fyth. Felly mae angen cyfnod o farchnata ein pwrpas a'n gweithgareddau i pawb yn y fro, yn enwedig aelodau newydd y gymuned. Efallai bod angen ystyried strwythur newydd sydd fwy addas ar gyfer y degawd o'n blaenau, strwythur Menter Gymdeithasol er enghraifft. Mater o drafodaeth agored gyda'r gymuned yw hyn wrth gwrs, ond mae angen cychwyn y broses o drafod a phenderfynnu heb oedi.
Saesneg | English:
The year was busy with regular weekly and weekend bookings from our usual customers. As well as local groups, families and regular customers, the Centre had success with winning several grants from a variety of sources. Conwy CBC awarded us warm hub status again this year and we decided to create a craft club and a woodwork club. Both were successful and excellent reviews from participants. They learnt new techniques in the craft club and created numerous items to support nature and wildlife and to enjoy in the garden.
We held a day to celebrate the weather in the community, with an open conversation around residents' experiences of the violent Storm Daragh in 2025 that cut the electricity supply to the village for a whole week. Scottish Power staff shared ideas around coping and how to build resilience, whilst National Energy Action provided advice and support for dealing with energy poverty. These were followed in the afternoon by a fun session for the children with the scientist ‘Sbarc'. In the evening we held a Curry & Song night in Caffi Siabod again. The owners provided the curry for sale; we provided the bands and all monies raised went towards the Community Centre. The Centre Board thank the Caffi Siabod team for their cooperation and generous kindness in supporting our fundraising efforts.
The Board began the year with trialling an atomised system of linked booking and invoicing, Hallmaster. Our customers have turned to using it successfully and Board members are finding their feet slowly in using it.
Board members extended provision for the youth in the community through outdoor sports activities (funded by the NW Police Commissioner). We trialled a weekly youth club session over the summer with activities related to exploring your community. The young participants created their own zines, created a map, digital content and creative story writing under the guidance of professional facilitators. Activities continued with a closer look at nature, identifying plants in and around the community and recognising the varying landscapes of the community and their uses, including agriculture, forestry, tourism, leisure and education.
All sessions were held through the medium of Welsh, reflecting the makeup of the group and facilitators.  The overall purpose of the project was to open the young people's eyes to the opportunities around them as they grow and choose their leisure, educational and future employment pathways. We are planning to continue with monthly sessions over the winter.
In addition some Board members are exploring the idea of and planning evening sessions for children 8+ along with parents and other residents based on ‘Night Safaris' based on nature around the centre and community. If there is sufficient interest these sessions will be held with the Centre providing an HQ and shelter as required.
Other Board members organised Forest School sessions for our primary school age children, in partnership with the Events Committee and the children's Play Club. The feedback was very positive with the parents and children seeing growth in confidence and links with each other and relationship with nature around them. The sessions were held through the medium of Welsh. Offering activities bilingually is important and the Board would like to see that adopted as one of the committee's core principles.
The play park adjacent to the Centre attracts children's birthday party's bookings in the Centre. The events Committee have used the Centre for their seasonal parties such as Halloween and Easter. The Children's Play Club continues monthly and is very successful and managed by the Events Committee.
The Events Committee store all the essential items to host the annual Carnival in the Centre, this is not charged for at the moment, on the understanding that there is greater cooperation between that committee and the Centre's Board; this doesn't really happen at the moment but we need to progress this direction in the coming months.
The Community Council continue to use the Centre for all their regular meetings.
We need to consider the likely retirement of key members of the Centre's Board of Directors in the near future, after long and valued service to the Centre and the community. We need to seek new members to maintain the space and the
community activities held under its auspices. Without new members it is likely that the community would lose the venue for ever. So, we need to consider marketing our role and activities to everyone in the community, especially to new community members. Perhaps we need to reconsider a new structure which would better address the challenges of the next decade before us, perhaps a Social Enterprise structure for example. It is a matter for discussion with the wider community of course, but we need to begin the process of debate and decision without delay.
