Notes to the Financial Statements

for the Period Ended 31 January 2026

1. Accounting policies

These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

Turnover policy

Consultancy revenue is recognised as services are provided. Expenses are recognised as services are received, with accruals and prepayments where appropriate. Purchase-related rebates reduce the related asset cost or expense; other rewards are recognised as income.

Tangible fixed assets and depreciation policy

Assets are stated at cost less depreciation and impairment. Depreciation is charged from availability for use at 25% reducing balance for fixtures and fittings and 33% reducing balance for computer equipment.

Intangible fixed assets and amortisation policy

Qualifying website development costs are capitalised where the recognition criteria are met, including probable future economic benefits and reliable measurement of cost. They are amortised at 33% reducing balance. Assets are reviewed for impairment when there are indications of a reduction in recoverable amount.

Valuation and information policy

Long-term holdings of gold coins are carried at revalued amounts, with increases recognised in other comprehensive income and a non-distributable revaluation reserve. Money-market funds are current investments measured at fair value through profit or loss and are presented separately from cash.

11. Changes in presentation and prior period adjustments

The 2025 comparatives have been restated to correct expense and income timing, asset depreciation and valuation, and current and deferred taxation. Website development costs are presented separately from computer equipment to distinguish the website asset from physical hardware. These two classification changes do not alter profit or net assets. The gold revaluation gain is presented in other comprehensive income rather than profit, with no effect on total equity. 31 January 2025: previously reported / adjustment / restated (all £; brackets denote negative amounts): Intangible assets: nil / 117 / 117. Tangible assets: 3,766 / 155 / 3,921. Current asset investments: nil / 44,939 / 44,939. Debtors excluding prepayments: nil / 23 / 23. Cash at bank and in hand: 142,755 / (44,941) / 97,814.
