During the year, SoCCO continued its community-focused work through parenting seminars, workshops and individual family support. Under the theme Beyond Survival (Parenting with Purpose), activities addressed parenting challenges, emotional wellbeing, mental health, safeguarding and healthy family relationships. Beyond its educational programmes, SoCCO maintained its regular outreach to Southall Street Homeless, offering donations and practical help to people experiencing homelessness. The organisation also provided essential items and financial assistance to disadvantaged indi-viduals and families locally and internationally, according to identified needs. Community Impact and People Reached The organisation’s work benefited parents, women, children, young people, families facing fi-nancial or personal difficulties, and people experiencing homelessness. Through education, individual support and material assistance, SoCCO sought to ease hardship, encourage healthier family relationships and improve access to support within vulnerable communities. Future Plans: 2026 - Wipe Your Tears (Parenting Without Tears) SoCCO intends to broaden its support for families and vulnerable individuals through further seminars, workshops, counselling and mentoring. Priorities include safeguarding, mental health awareness, hospital outreach, gender-based awareness initiatives, stronger community partnerships and continued assistance to disadvantaged people locally and internationally. These activities will support the organisation’s ongoing commitment to alleviating poverty and building healthier, more resilient communities
SoCCO’s stakeholders include parents, single-parent families, children, young people, com-munity professionals, schools, faith organisations and individuals experiencing homelessness or financial hardship. Throughout the year, SoCCO engaged with members of the community through conversa-tions during seminars, individual support sessions and direct outreach. These interactions provided opportunities to understand the pressures facing families, identify unmet needs and recognise areas where further guidance or practical assistance was required. The information gathered helped inform the organisation’s priorities, including parenting edu-cation, family wellbeing, safeguarding awareness and support for vulnerable individuals. En-gagement with community contacts also helped identify opportunities for partnership and signposting to relevant support. SoCCO remains committed to listening to the people it serves and using their experiences to guide the development of meaningful, needs-led community support.
