The Association’s aim is to raise the profile of healthcare analysts and provide a professional network. AphA provides training, development and networking opportunities, through conferences and events, at a regional and national level, as well as a range of online resources. We promote the highest standards in healthcare analysis and are actively involved with other national representative bodies to increase the profile of analysts and ultimately to provide a framework for professional registration. During 2025/26 the Association continued to work with the Federation of IT Professionals (FEDIP) to promote professional registration. Work continued designing and providing an accreditation / endorsement service for data professional training courses. AphA continued to improve its reputation, by engaging with multiple key collaborative partners and AphA members; work continued supporting the development and implementation of the National Analytics Competency Framework for data professionals; AphA were also mentioned in several national healthcare data policies as a valued professional body for its members. During the year, NHSE announced that professional registration for data professionals would become mandatory and would be phased in, starting with the most senior roles. We also recognised the structural changes of the NHS with many of our members being affected either directly or indirectly and the continued impact this is having on the data profession. We continued with our day-to-day operations, providing a regular monthly magazine and holding national conference, to keep sharing best practice, showcasing work and providing networking opportunities.
Our stakeholders are our members, all analysts working within the health and care sectors, NHS organisations and other organisations that work with the analytical community. The membership of the Association are consulted on changes to the Constitution. There were no changes during the period.
