The hall supported food-bank and practical community activity. Food-bank volunteers collected surplus food, prepared the hall, welcomed visitors and delivered food on foot to residents across the estate who could not reach the hall. Food support included deliveries associated with the Felix Project, with food safety arrangements supported by Environmental Health registration and food-hygiene-qualified supervisors. Local councillors requested Lavender Hope’s assistance in supporting local asylum seekers with cooking, eating and social inclusion. Additionally, we assisted families with school admissions and access to electrical equipment through Community TechAid. Deronda Hall continued to host faith gatherings, Brownies and Guides, yoga, art, book club, health and diabetes sessions, meetings and other social and community activities. These activities provided opportunities for connection, participation, learning and support for local residents and families. Building and safety work during the year included roof repairs continuing through March 2025, door replacement and asbestos-related work from December 2024 to May 2025, repairs and maintenance, the completion of accessible wet rooms, flooring repairs begun in July 2025, and removal of a wasp nest. Lavender Hope CIC continued to work with Lambeth, Community TechAid, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, schools and social services, Match My Project, community health organisations and other community partners. Support included referrals, access to laptops and practical household assistance, together with polling-station risk-assessment work. The company’s activities benefited the community by keeping a local hall safe and available, supporting access to food and practical help, reducing isolation, enabling community groups and health-related activity, and helping residents access information, services, equipment and partnership support.
Stakeholders included Deronda Estate residents, local families, children and young people, older people, disabled people, community groups, hall users, volunteers, activity organisers, partner organisations, funders, Lambeth and other local-authority or resident representatives. Stakeholders were consulted through conversations with residents, hall users, volunteers, organisers, partners, Lambeth Council and local councillors. These included operational discussions about food support, building works, activities, access, safety and community needs. Feedback and operational needs informed the continuation of food-bank support and deliveries, the maintenance and repair programme, the provision of accessible wet rooms, the development of practical support and referrals, and the continued availability of Deronda Hall for community groups and activities. Lavender Hope CIC continued to review the way the hall and its services were delivered with residents, volunteers, partners and relevant public bodies.
