Throughout the 2025 to 2026 financial year, LELS Counselling CIC continued its commitment to promoting emotional wellbeing and providing professional, compassionate counselling services to individuals seeking mental health support. As in the previous reporting period, the organisation operated at a reduced capacity due to ongoing financial constraints and limited funding opportunities. Consequently, we were unable to reinstate our free counselling provision, with services continuing to operate solely through income generated from paid counselling sessions. Despite these limitations, our commitment to the community and our wider social objectives remains unchanged. We recognise the importance of accessible mental health support, particularly for individuals experiencing financial hardship who may otherwise face barriers to accessing professional counselling. Expenditure primarily related to maintaining the essential infrastructure required for professional counselling provision, including clinical management systems, online counselling platforms, appointment booking facilities, website maintenance and professional memberships. Operating at a reduced capacity has enabled us to maintain the foundations of the organisation while continuing to review its long-term financial sustainability. Although the absence of free counselling provision has limited our ability to reach those experiencing financial barriers, we remain committed to creating opportunities for wider community access. Looking ahead, our intention is to reintroduce free counselling services during the 2027 to 2028 financial year, subject to securing sufficient funding and generating sustainable income to support their delivery. Our priorities will include exploring appropriate funding opportunities, strengthening financial sustainability and developing a realistic framework for reinstating free therapeutic support without compromising the quality or continuity of services. We recognise that meaningful community impact requires not only compassion and commitment, but also the financial resources necessary to provide consistent and reliable support. While the past year has been one of consolidation rather than expansion, our long-term vision remains firmly rooted in improving access to mental health services and supporting individuals who might otherwise struggle to obtain the therapeutic care they need. LELS Counselling CIC remains committed to its community interest purpose, with the hope that improved financial circumstances will allow us to extend our reach and reintroduce free counselling provision in the coming years.
