Year Ending: 31 January 2026

Company activities and impact

This year, Purple Phoenix Pottery CIC embarked on several projects to benefit the local community. This includes running weekly pottery workshops for adult with disabilities, with the finished pieces going directly to the attendees for their personal use and placement in the Moorclose Community Centre, allowing vulnerable individuals to empower themselves through the workshops and explore their creativity in a supportive and welcoming space. We operated a weekly 1-2-1 service for an adult with learning disabilities in order to create pieces to be sold in local shops. This helped to teach the individual new skills and was an essential part of their ongoing weekly schedule. For a period of time, we operated open workshops for individuals to come and create their own Highland cows, allowing others in the local community to explore a new activity in ceramics, and have a finished product to be proud of. We also operated seasonal pottery workshops, unning a children's pottery workshops through the school summer holidays, and held "Make Your Own Elf" workshops at the council run Christmas festival.

Consultation with stakeholders

We engage in constant consultation with our stakeholders, seeking ongoing feedback and insight into what works and what doesn't - this includes consulting with the group of adults with disabilities, with the local council and funding groups, and the management at Moorclose Community Centre where we operate our primary workshops from. We also asked attendees of our summer and Christmas workshops to complete feedback forms, in order to understand the needs and ideas of the local community in order to better tailor our support.

Directors' remuneration

Directors were paid some wages through the year as a result of funding grants which included a staff wage element. All payments went through PAYE and were not made seperate to payroll.
