During the financial year ended 31 January 2026, Ensemble Not Found CIC continued to support independent artists and foster inclusive, collaborative and interdisciplinary practices within the performing arts sector. Artist Development and Creative Opportunities Through Make It Work, the company provided bursaries and one week of creative space to six groups of artists, supporting their artistic development and access to resources. The programme culminated in a sharing at BOLD Elephant, providing artists with an opportunity to present their work and connect with the wider creative community. The company also received one week of venue access and creative support from London Performance Studio for creative research and development. This enabled the company to explore new creative directions and develop a small-scale performance outcome presented at the Great London Museum. Interdisciplinary Collaboration and Knowledge Exchange In collaboration with Halfpace Theatre, Ensemble Not Found CIC curated three editions of Cross Pollination as part of Chisenhale Dance Space's SCRATCH RENAISSANCE programme. The initiative brought together artists who had not previously collaborated, creating opportunities to experiment across disciplines, exchange ideas and establish new creative relationships. The company also collaborated with Halfpace Theatre to deliver panel talks, providing an additional opportunity for discussion and knowledge exchange within the performing arts community. Independent Production and Community Engagement The company remounted its previous production, Woo Woolf, at The Cockpit Theatre as part of the Voila! Theatre Festival. Without Arts Council England funding for this production, the company raised £971 through crowdfunding and adopted a profit-sharing model for the production. Through these activities, the company supported artists' access to creative resources, encouraged interdisciplinary collaboration and created opportunities for artistic experimentation, peer exchange and professional connection. The company also fostered dialogue between artists and supporters, contributing to a more connected independent performing arts community.
Our stakeholders include: Emerging and established East and South East Asian (ESEA) artists working in or aspiring to enter the UK performing arts industry; Wider ESEA communities and audiences interested in inclusive, cross-cultural theatre and creative expression; Collaborating artists and creatives from diverse backgrounds who work with us on productions, workshops, and community programmes; Partner organisations and venues , including New Earth Theatre, Kakilang, Camden People’s Theatre, BOLD Elephant, Theatre Deli, Centre 151, Chisenhale Dance Space and ESEA-led collectives such as Ming Strike and Hidden Keileon; Funding and support bodies such as London Performance Studio and other cultural networks that enable our activities. We consult with these stakeholders in several ways: Through open calls, post-event discussions, and feedback forms following our productions and workshops; By maintaining ongoing conversations via our bilingual social media channels (Instagram in English and Red in Mandarin); By collaborating with partner organisations and collectives to identify shared community priorities and opportunities for co-creation. These discussions explore creative development, collaboration opportunities and the challenges faced by independent artists, including access to resources and professional opportunities. The insights gained have informed the company's thinking around future programming and collaborations, although no specific actions have yet been taken in response.
