During the financial year Housing UP CIC continued to provide supported accommodation and housing-related support to vulnerable people in the Birmingham area, including individuals at risk of homelessness. The company increased the number of accommodation units available and was registered with the local authority to provide supported accommodation. This expansion enabled the organisation to develop its capacity to accommodate and support vulnerable people. The company continued to provide support aimed at helping residents sustain their accommodation and improve their independence and stability. This included assistance with accessing health and wellbeing services, benefits and statutory services, as well as signposting to employment advice, community resources and move-on accommodation where appropriate.
Residents: Support workers engage with residents to identify support needs, develop support plans and review progress. Regular support sessions allow residents to raise concerns and discuss their goals. Local authority: The company liaises with the local authority and provides support-related documentation as required to assist residents with accessing housing benefit and other services. Referral agencies: The company communicates with referral agencies about residents' support needs and suitability of accommodation, so that support can be tailored appropriately. Employees: Staff briefings and individual meetings provide opportunities to discuss service delivery and residents' needs.
